This study presents gravimetric enrichment of mixed culture to screen starch and lipid producing species separately in a sequencing batch reactor. In the enriched starch-producing mixed culture photobioreactor, the starch content at the end of steady state batch became 3.42 times the beginning of depletion. Whereas in the enriched lipid-producing photobioreactor, the lipid content at the end of steady state batch became 3 times the beginning of famine phase. The obtained results revealed that the gravimetric enrichment is a suitable screening method for specific production of storage compounds in none-sterile large-scaled condition.

We propose a new stable three-dimensional (3D) porous and metallic boron nitride anode material, named h-BN, with good ductility for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs). Based on first-principles calculations and a tight-binding model, we demonstrate that the metallicity originates from the synergistic contribution of the p-orbital of the sp-hybridized B and N atoms, while the ductility is due to the unique configurations of B-B and N-N dimers in the structure. More importantly, this boron nitride allotrope exhibits a high reversible capacity of 582.

In the current study, extraction of humic acid (HAs) from lignite fines of kutch basin of Gujarat (western India) were reported. The extraction was done by International Humic Substances Society (IHSS) method. Several analytical and spectroscopic techniques were used to characterize of extracted HAs.

A novel approach for determining the elemental content of organic matter through thermal gravimetric analysis coupled online with a mass spectrometer (TG-MS) is disclosed. This method not only yields results equivalent to ASTM analysis but also provides insight into the covalent bond structure within the sample. The principle of this technique consists of the combustion of organic matter in an oxygen-enriched environment within the thermogravimetric (TG) system.

The high energy consumption of Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage(CCUS) promotes the research of integrated absorption and mineralization technology. A novel DEEA/AEP biphasic absorbent is used to absorb [Formula: see text]. After phase separation, only one phase enriched with the absorption product is sent into the mineralization system, then reacts with [Formula: see text] to produce [Formula: see text] at normal temperature and pressure.

Photochemical aging and photooxidation of atmospheric particles play a crucial role in both the chemical and physical processes occurring in the troposphere. In particular, the presence of organic chromophores within atmospheric aerosols can trigger photosensitized oxidation that drives the atmospheric processes in these interfaces. However, the light-induced oxidation of the surface of atmospheric aerosols, especially those enriched with organic components, remains poorly understood.
