Gaucher disease is a rare lysosomal storage disorder characterized by the accumulation of glucocerebroside lipids within multiple organs due to a deficiency of the lysosomal enzyme (acid β-glucosidase). It is an inherited autosomal recessive disease. The onset of symptoms can vary depending on disease type and severity, with milder forms presenting in adulthood.

Research has shown that higher direct supervisor leadership scores correlate with decreased provider burnout and increased professional fulfillment. Safety-net health systems such as Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) face increased challenges due to limited financial resources, more complex social determinants of health among patients, and often fewer physician leaders who can serve as mentors compared to large, integrated health systems.

Background: The July effect in US teaching hospitals has been studied with conflicting results. We aimed to evaluate the effect of physician turnover in July on the clinical outcomes of patients hospitalized with cirrhosis.
Methods: We utilized the Nationwide Inpatient Sample database (2016-2019) to identify patients hospitalized with cirrhosis and liver-related complications (variceal bleeding, hepatorenal syndrome, acute-on-chronic liver failure).
