3D particle-in-cell simulations demonstrate that the enhanced transparency of a relativistically hot plasma is sensitive to how the energy is partitioned between different degrees of freedom. For an anisotropic electron distribution, propagation characteristics, like the critical density, will depend on the polarization of the electromagnetic wave. Despite the onset of the Weibel instability in such plasmas, the anisotropy can persist long enough to affect laser propagation. This plasma can then function as a polarizer or a wave plate to dramatically alter the pulse polarization.

The quark-gluon plasma analysis relies on the heavy quark potential, which is influenced by the anisotropic plasma parameter temperature (t), and baryonic chemical potential (μ). Employing the generalized fractional derivative Nikiforov-Uvarov (GFD-NU) method, we solved the topologically-fractional Schrödinger equation. Two scenarios were explored: the classical model (α = β = 1) and the fractional model (α, β < 1).

Collisionless shock waves, found in supernova remnants, interstellar, stellar, and planetary environments, and laboratories, are one of nature's most powerful particle accelerators. This study combines in situ satellite measurements with recent theoretical developments to establish a reinforced shock acceleration model for relativistic electrons. Our model incorporates transient structures, wave-particle interactions, and variable stellar wind conditions, operating collectively in a multiscale set of processes.

Shock waves, the interface of supersonic and subsonic plasma flows, are the primary region for charged particle acceleration in multiple space plasma systems, including Earth's bow shock, which is readily accessible for in-situ measurements. Spacecraft frequently observe relativistic electron populations within this region, characterized by energy levels surpassing those of solar wind electrons by a factor of 10,000 or more. However, mechanisms of such strong acceleration remain elusive.

Through precise control of both the surface plasma density gradient and the driving light waveform, we can produce highly stable and reproducible extreme ultraviolet spectral quasi-continua, expected to correspond to the generation of stable kHz-trains of isolated attosecond pulses in the time domain. This confirms the exciting potential of liquid-sheet targets as one of the building blocks of future high-power attosecond lasers.

The shear viscosity is a fundamental transport property of matter. Here we derive a general theory of the viscosity of gases based on the relativistic Langevin equation (deduced from a relativistic Lagrangian) and nonaffine linear response theory. The proposed relativistic theory is able to recover the viscosity of nonrelativistic classical gases, with all its key dependencies on mass, temperature, particle diameter, and Boltzmann constant, in the limit of Lorentz factor γ=1.
