Patients suffering from chronic kidney failure ultimately need kidney replacement therapies, such as hemodialysis. Adherence to treatment in these patients can play a central role in improving health levels and feelings of well-being. The aim of this study was to determine the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the modified version of the Greek Simplified Medication Adherence Questionnaire in hemodialysis patients.

Purpose Of Review: In this review, we discuss the timeline of innovation and technologic development in home hemodialysis (HHD) in the United States and the legislative approvals that accompanied them.
Recent Findings: The most recently FDA-approved home hemodialysis devices provide features that include on-demand and batch dialysate generation, access disconnect for venous needle dislodgement, touchscreen interface with visual and auditory prompts and animations, drop-in sterilized cartridges with prestrung tubing, hot water disinfection of tubing allowing extended-use, dialysate flow rates as high as 500 ml/min, as well as remote treatment monitoring capabilities. Furthermore, wearable/portable dialysis devices are currently under development to simplify dialysis delivery to patients with end-stage kidney disease.

Objective: As the prevalence of diabetic nephropathy and hypertensive nephropathy increases with age in mainland China, the number of patients with end-stage renal disease is increasing, leading to an increase in the number of patients receiving maintenance hemodialysis. Considering the harmful effects of frailty on the health of maintenance hemodialysis patients, this study aims to identify hemodialysis patients at risk for frailty at an early stage, in order to prevent or delay the progression of frailty in the early stage, so as to prevent the adverse consequences of frailty.
Methods: A total of 479 patients admitted to the blood purification centers of two grade tertiary hospitals in Anhui Province, China, using convenient sampling.
