Background: Quantifying peripheral nerve regeneration via electrophysiology is a commonly used technique, but it can be complicated by spurious electrical activity. This study sought to compare electrode configurations for measuring compound muscle action potential (CMAP) of the tibialis anterior (TA) muscle in a rat model for specific and sensitive detection of regeneration of peroneal nerve to the TA.

New Method: 10 Sprague-Dawley rats underwent a peroneal nerve transection with direct microsuture repair.

Many recent studies show that exoscopes are safe and effective alternatives to operating microscopes (OM). Developments of robotics and automation are present in neurosurgery with the appearance of a newer device such as RoboticScope (RS) exoscope with a digital three-dimensional (3D) image and a head-mounted display. The body of the RS is connected to a six-axis robotic arm that contains two video cameras, and serves as stereovision.

To investigate the clinical characteristics, diagnosis, endoscopic surgical procedures, and therapeutic effect of blunt laryngeal trauma with arytenoid injury. We retrospectively reviewed 12 patients who suffered blunt laryngeal trauma with laryngeal mucosa avulsion and arytenoid region injury at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Beijing Tongren Hospital from April 2007 to December 2018. Among the 12 patients, 10 were males, 2 were females, aged from 7 to 48 years old, with a median age of 21 years old.
