We have calculated the variance of the equilibrium distribution of a circular wormlike polymer chain over the writhing number, less than (Wr)2 greater than, with allowance for the excluded volume effects. Within this model the less than (Wr)2 greater than value is a function of the number of Kuhn statistical segments, n, and the chain diameter, d measured in Kuhn statistical lengths, b. Simulated DNA chains varied from 200 to 10,000 base pairs and the d value varied from 0.02 to 0.2. Theory predicts a considerable ionic strength dependence of the DNA superhelix energy as a consequence of the change in the DNA diameter. A comparison with the available experimental data has yielded an estimate of the DNA torsional rigidity, the Kuhn statistical length, and the effective diameter of the double helix under conditions of the complete screening of the DNA electrostatic potential.

Mountains with complex terrain and steep environmental gradients are biodiversity hotspots such as the eastern Tibetan Plateau (TP). However, it is generally assumed that mountain terrain plays a secondary role in plant species assembly on a millennial time-scale compared to climate change. Here, we investigate plant richness and community changes during the last 18,000 years at two sites: Lake Naleng and Lake Ximen on the eastern TP with similar elevation and climatic conditions but contrasting terrain.

Introduction: Prescribable digital health applications (DiGAs) present scalable solutions to improve patient self-management in rheumatology, however real-world evidence is scarce. Therefore, we aimed to assess the effectiveness, usage, and usability of DiGAs prescribed by rheumatologists, as well as patient satisfaction.

Methods: The DiGAReal registry includes adult patients with rheumatic conditions who received a DiGA prescription.

Employees' psychological wellbeing is of special interest to employers, as mental illnesses are still the second most common reason for work absences. The psychological wellbeing of employees is determined by factors at an individual, interpersonal and organizational level. Health literacy encompasses both the individual and the organizational level and thus offers a good concept against the background of employees' psychological wellbeing.

Long-term strategies are needed for the ecological restoration of land invaded by perennial weed species comprising of two parts: (1) control of the invasive species and (2) restoration of native vegetation meeting agricultural/conservation objectives. We investigated this within a statistically-rigorous, 28-year experiment at a site where Pteridium aquilinum had invaded an acid-grass/heathland. Where P.

The beta decay of the lightest charmed baryon provides unique insights into the fundamental mechanism of strong and electro-weak interactions, serving as a testbed for investigating non-perturbative quantum chromodynamics and constraining the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) matrix parameters. This article presents the first observation of the Cabibbo-suppressed decay , utilizing 4.5 fb of electron-positron annihilation data collected with the BESIII detector.
