1,2,3,4-Tetrazine (vicinal-tetrazine) high-energy-density compounds (HEDCs) are receiving increasing attention due to their promise as explosives. We have performed a series of studies of vicinal-tetrazine 1,3-dioxides annulated with a range of five-membered heterocycles, considering their potential as high-energy, low-sensitivity explosives. In the present work, twelve 1,2,3-triazol-1,2,3,4-tetrazine 1,3-dioxides (TTDOs; T1-T12) were studied theoretically. Their geometric structures in the gas phase were studied at the B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) level of density functional theory (DFT). Their gas-phase enthalpies of formation were calculated by the homodesmotic reaction method. Their enthalpies of sublimation and solid-phase enthalpies of formation were also predicted. Their detonation properties were estimated with the Kamlet-Jacobs equations, based on their predicted densities and enthalpies of formation in the solid state. Their bond dissociation activation energies (BDAEs) and the available free space in the lattice of each compound were calculated to evaluate their stabilities. T2, T5, and T11 were found to have higher energies than RDX and acceptable stabilities, and are therefore considered to be the three most promising TTDOs for use as high-energy, low-sensitivity explosives. We believe that further studies, both experimental and theoretical, of these three targets would be worthwhile.

An extensive thermochemical study of γ-undecanolactone and δ-undecanolactone has been developed using two complementary calorimetric techniques. The combustion energy of each compound was determined by static-bomb combustion calorimetry, and the corresponding enthalpy of vaporization was determined by high-temperature Calvet microcalorimetry, in which both properties of each compound are reported at = 298.15 K.

The quality of frozen crayfish () is challenged by freeze-thaw (FT) cycles during storage. The effect of freezing methods on the quality of crayfish during FT cycles was investigated by comparing physicochemical properties, microstructure, and myofibrillar protein (MPs) properties. Three methods were used for crayfish freezing, including air convective freezing (AF) at -20 °C and -50 °C, as well as liquid nitrogen freezing (LNF) at -80 °C.

This study investigates the effect of ultrasonic-assisted preparation on the structural and physicochemical properties of water caltrop starch-palmitic acid complexes as a function of ultrasound intensity and treatment time. All samples exhibited the characteristic birefringence of starch-lipid complexes under the polarized microscope, and flake-like and irregular structure under scanning electron microscope (SEM), indicating the formation of complexes through ultrasonic-assisted preparation. X-ray diffraction pattern further confirmed the transition from the original A-type structure for native starch to V-type structure for starch-lipid complexes, and the relative crystallinity of starch-lipid complexes increased as the ultrasound intensity and treatment time increased.

In this work, two general equations were proposed to express the nonlinear and linear changes in physicochemical properties of aliphatic alcohols, involving boiling point, refractive index, critical temperature, critical volume, and so on. The two general equations all are expressed with the same six molecular descriptors. The results show that the linear and nonlinear change properties of aliphatic alcohols have good correlations with the same six molecular descriptors.

In this study, a supramolecular fluorescent material was constructed by using double-cavity twisted cucurbit[14]uril (tQ[14]) and positively charged Astrazon Pink FG (APFG) based on the non-covalent host-guest interaction for the first time. The thermodynamic parameters of the APFG@tQ[14] in aqueous solution were determined by isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC), the results indicated that the spontaneous assembly of APFG@tQ[14] is mainly driven by enthalpy. The intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) effect induced the APFG@tQ[14] probe to emit a strong orange-red fluorescence.
