Optical mode-splitting is an efficient tool to shape and fine-tune the spectral response of resonant nanophotonic devices. The active control of mode-splitting, however, is either small or accompanied by undesired resonance-shifts, often much larger than the resonance splitting. We report a control mechanism that enables reconfigurable and widely tunable mode splitting while efficiently mitigating undesired resonance shifts. This is achieved by actively controlling the excitation of counter-traveling modes in coupled resonators. The transition from a large splitting (80 GHz) to a single-notch resonance is demonstrated using low-power microheaters (35 mW). We show that the spurious resonance shift in our device is only limited by thermal crosstalk, and resonance-shift-free splitting control may be achieved.

Background: Currently, paradoxical findings exist regarding the level of functioning in individuals with Hikikomori (prolonged social withdrawal).
Aims: This systematic review aimed to clarify the functioning, disability, and health of individuals with Hikikomori and their families in comparison to those without Hikikomori.
Method: Relevant studies were searched from April 22 to 25, 2022, using MEDLINE, PsycINFO, Scopus, and two Japanese databases.
Aim: This study was conducted to evaluate the in vitro effects of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) on histone deacetylase (HDAC) enzyme activity and interleukin (IL)-6, IL-10, and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) expression. HDAC enzyme activity and the expression of inflammation markers were tested, with the presence of the HDAC inhibitor valproic acid, in human primary cell cultures prepared from two different tissues.
Material And Methods: Primary cell cultures were prepared.
Aim: St. John\'s Wort Oil (JWO) has a sedative property and it is used traditionally for the treatment of depression, neuralgia and excitability. JWO has been shown to have anticancer activity via apoptosis in glioblastoma cells.

Objective: Previous experiments have demonstrated that BGM0504, a GLP-1R/GIPR dual agonist drug by molecular dynamics-guided optimization, had enhanced agonistic activity compared to tirzepatide. This study aims to investigate its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD) in Chinese healthy volunteers.
Methods: A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled and dose-escalation Phase I study was conducted as follows: a single dose (2.

Gastrointestinal infections present major challenges to ruminant livestock systems, and gut health is a key constraint on fitness, welfare, and productivity. Fecal biomarkers present opportunities to monitor animal health without using invasive methods, and with greater resolution compared to observational metrics. Here we developed enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays for three potential fecal biomarkers of gut health in domestic ruminants: two immunological (total immunoglobulin [Ig]A and total IgG) and one inflammatory (lactoferrin).
