Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) have been shown to suppress the growth rate of human osteogenic sarcoma cells and to have selective cytotoxic activity against human cancer cells. The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy of various PUFAs on inhibition of prostaglandin (PG) synthesis by oral squamous carcinoma cells (SCC-25). A significant inhibition of PGE2 and PGF2 alpha synthesis in SCC-25 was observed by all PUFAs tested except in the case of linoleic acid (LA) at 10 microM level. At 10 microM level the rank order of inhibition of PG synthesis by PUFAs was docosahexaenoic (DHA) greater than eicosapentaenoic (EPA) + DHA greater than dihomogamma-linolenic (DGLA) greater than EPA greater than alpha-linolenic (ALA) greater than linoleic (LA). At 50, 75, 100 microM the rank order of inhibition was DGLA greater than EPA greater than EPA + DHA greater than DHA greater than ALA greater than LA.

Purpose: In order to investigate the effects of a rice-crab coculture mode and its duration on the richness and diversity of the soil microbial community.
Method: Soil from long-term rice-crab coculture mode (MY), newly established rice-crab coculture mode (OY) and rice monoculture mode (N) were used to measured soil physicochemical properties, enzyme activity and 16S and ITS soil microbial communities.
Results: The results revealed that in terms of mode, the MBC, MBN and CAT of OY were significantly greater than those of N by 10.

Background: The long-chain omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) have beneficial effects in depression, and these effects may be mediated via changes in functional brain connectivity. However, little is known about these effects in those with subthreshold depression.
Methods: 15 Participants aged 18-29 years with Patient Health Questionnaire-8 (PHQ-8) scores ≥ 4 and Generalised Anxiety Disorder Assessment-7 (GAD-7) scores ≥ 5, underwent resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the optical, mechanical, and biological properties of two new, inexpensive lithium disilicate (LS2) materials (Lodden (LOD), LD Medical Technology; and BeautyZir (BZ), BeautyZir Technology) to a clinically established LS2 material (IPS e.max CAD (EMAX), Ivoclar Vivadent).
Methods And Materials: The optical properties of the translucency parameter (TP) and opalescence parameter (OP) were obtained with a dental spectrophotometer.

This study explores the therapeutic potential of ω-3 algal oil (rich in DHA) and ω-7 sea buckthorn oil (rich in palmitoleic acid) in addressing hyperlipidemia and associated metabolic disorders. These oils regulate lipid metabolism through the PPARγ-LXRα-ABCA1/ABCG1 signaling pathway, reducing cholesterol accumulation, oxidative stress, and inflammation. In high-fat diet-induced hyperlipidemic mice, supplementation with these oils significantly improved lipid profiles, alleviated hepatic steatosis, and promoted cardiovascular health.
