Chagas disease is caused by Trypanosoma cruzi and can lead to a dilated cardiomyopathy decades after the prime infection by the parasite. As with other dilated cardiomyopathies, conventional pharmacologic therapies are not always effective and as heart failure progresses patients need heart transplantation. Therefore alternative therapies are highly desirable and cell-based therapies have been investigated in preclinical and clinical studies. In this paper we review the main findings of such studies and discuss future directions for stem cell-based therapies in chronic chagasic cardiomyopathy.

Cell-based therapies have become integral to the routine clinical management of hematologic malignancies. Tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapy has demonstrated efficacy in immunogenic solid tumors, such as melanoma. However, in the GI field, evidence supporting the clinical success of cell-based therapies is still awaited.

Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a dynamic process of lineage plasticity in which epithelial cancer cells acquire mesenchymal traits, enabling them to metastasize to distant organs. This review explores the current understanding of how lineage plasticity and phenotypic reprogramming drive prostate cancer progression to lethal stages, contribute to therapeutic resistance, and highlight strategies to overcome the EMT phenotype within the prostate tumor microenvironment (TME). Emerging evidence reveals that prostate tumor cells can undergo lineage switching, adopting alternative growth pathways in response to anti-androgen therapies and taxane-based chemotherapy.

In this review, it is evaluated the progress in the application of stem cell therapy to ameliorate the symptoms of bipolar disorder, major depression, schizophrenia, and autism. These disorders are highly prevalent in clinical medicine and are responsible for high levels of psychosocial disability among patients. All of them share common biomedical features, such as complex and variable genetic substrates, significant susceptibility to environmental changes, and insufficient knowledge of their pathogenesis.

Endovascular interventions excel in treating cardiovascular diseases in a minimally invasive manner, showing improved outcomes over open techniques. However, challenges related to precise navigation - still relying on 2D fluoroscopy - persist. This review examines the role of robotics, highlighting commercial and research platforms, while exploring emerging trends like MRI compatibility, enhanced navigation, and autonomy.

Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors have revolutionized cancer therapy, but many patients fail to respond or develop resistance, often due to reduced T cell activity. Costimulation via 4-1BB has emerged as a promising approach to enhance the effector function of antigen-primed T cells. Bispecific T cell-engaging (TCE) antibodies are an effective way to provide tumor-specific T cell receptor-mediated signaling to tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes.
