Background: The management of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is hindered by treatment-related toxicities and complications, particularly cytopenia, which remains a leading cause of mortality. Given the pivotal role of the gut microbiota (GM) in hemopoiesis and immune regulation, we investigated its impact on hematologic recovery during AML induction therapy.

Methods: We profiled the GM of 27 newly diagnosed adult AML patients using 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing and correlated it with key clinical parameters before and after induction therapy.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the predictive performance of inflammatory and nutritional indices for adverse cardiovascular events (ACE) in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) using a machine learning (ML) algorithm.

Methods: AMI patients who underwent PCI were recruited and randomly divided into non/ACE groups. Inflammatory and nutritional indices were graded according to the laboratory examination reports.

Objective: Evaluation of the effects of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) on systemic inflammatory markers in patients with severe mental disorders and determination of potential clinical predictors of treatment response.

Methods: The current retrospective cohort study included 156 patients with psychotic and mood disorders who underwent ECT. Pre- and post-ECT blood samples were collected to assess inflammatory markers, including C-reactive protein (CRP), neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), and other complete blood count derived indices.

Introduction: Torque Teno Virus (TTV), an "orphan" virus with unclear pathology, has been associated with various diseases and immune dysfunctions. This study investigates the link between TTV viremia and clinical markers in patients with severe to very severe COPD undergoing respiratory rehabilitation.

Methods: We analyzed 102 elderly COPD patients, stratified by TTV viremia levels (< or ≥ 4 log10 copies/mL).
