Although biologics have been revolutionizing the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) over the past decade, a significant number of patients still fail to benefit from these drugs. Overcoming the nonresponse to biologics is one of the top challenges in IBD treatment. In this study, we revealed that hyaluronan (HA), an extracellular matrix (ECM) component in the gut, is associated with nonresponsiveness to infliximab and vedolizumab therapy in patients with IBD.

We report the case of a 69-year-old male with moderate-to-severe ulcerative colitis who developed SDRIFE following the seventh intravenous administration of infliximab. The patient presented with symmetrical, pruritic erythema in the cubital and popliteal fossae, groins, gluteal and retroauricular regions without systemic involvement.

The aim was to explore factors associated with intestinal tissue levels of anti-TNF alpha (anti-TNF), anti-TNF antibodies, and cytokines in pediatric patients with Crohn Disease (CD). In a prospective exploratory study of CD patients undergoing ileocecal resection or colonoscopy between 6/2020 and 1/2023, we analysed tissue levels of anti-TNF, anti-TNF antibodies, and cytokines (TNF-α, IL-17, IL-1β, IFN-γ) from intestinal biopsies. Mixed-effects regression models, adjusted for potential confounders, were used.

Background: Recent studies have focused on treating cardiac sarcoidosis (CS) with corticosteroids primarily mitigating symptoms and reducing the risk of mortality and other cardiovascular complications. A promising new treatment approach involves tumor necrosis factor (TNF) alpha inhibitors.
Methodology: A systematic search was conducted on PubMed, the Cochrane Library, and Elsevier's Science Direct databases to identify studies comparing TNF alpha inhibitors with other drugs in CS patients who had heart failure.

Background: This study evaluated the long-term effectiveness and safety of a multidisciplinary early proactive therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) program combined with Bayesian forecasting for infliximab (IFX) dose adjustment in a real-world dataset of paediatric patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
Methods: A descriptive, ambispective, single-centre study of paediatric patients with IBD who underwent IFX serum concentration measurements between September 2015 and September 2023. The patients received reactive TDM before September 2019 (n = 17) and proactive TDM thereafter (n = 21).
