Allergic diseases commonly coexist, manifesting in a sequence described as the "allergic march". This study aimed to evaluate TSLP's and IL-1β's potential as biomarkers in both single and multi-pediatric atopic diseases like atopic eczema, food allergy, and anaphylaxis and analyze specific SNPs in the TSLP and IL-1β genes to determine their associations with their occurrence and severity. This analysis included 109 atopic children diagnosed with atopic dermatitis, food allergy, or anaphylaxis alongside a control group of 57 non-atopic children.

Coxsackievirus B (CVB) infections, ranging from mild to severe diseases, lack specific antiviral treatments, underscoring the need for novel therapeutic strategies. Drug therapy is an important tool for controlling enterovirus infections, but clinically effective drugs do not currently exist, mainly due to the development of drug resistance. Combination therapy with two or more drugs has the potential to successfully inhibit viral infection more effectively than either drug alone as well as delay the development of resistance.

: Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease is an inherited peripheral neuropathy primarily involving motor and sensory neurons. Mutations in INF2, an actin assembly factor, cause two diseases: peripheral neuropathy CMT-DIE (MIM614455) and/or focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). These two phenotypes arise from the progressive degeneration affecting podocytes and Schwann cells.

Purpose: A human model able to simulate the manifestation of corneal endothelium decompensation could be advantageous for wound healing and future cell therapy assessment. The study aimed to establish an ex vivo human cornea endothelium wound model where endothelium function can be evaluated by measuring corneal thickness changes.
Methods: The human cornea was maintained in an artificial anterior chamber, with a continuous culture medium infusion system designed to sustain corneal endothelium and epithelium simultaneously.
