Background: This study investigates the impact of IGC-AD1, a combination comprising of low concentration of delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol ("THC") and melatonin on blood serum potassium levels in patients with Alzheimer's disease ("AD"). Loss of intracellular compartmentalization of potassium is a characteristic of AD pathology, with supporting studies indicating significantly lower potassium levels in intracellular compartments of AD brains and an associated increase in serum potassium levels in AD subjects. Here, we present preliminary safety lab data from a Phase I trial of AD patients administered with IGC-AD1.

Background: Familial hemiplegic migraine (FHM) types 1-3 are associated with protein-altering genetic variants in , and , respectively. These genes have also been linked to epilepsy. Previous studies primarily focused on phenotypes, examining genetic variants in individuals with characteristic FHM symptoms.

Biochar (100 g) was amended with sediment (25 kg) at 9 tons/ha. Shrimps of average weight 5 ± 0.

Several trials have evaluated diuretic-based strategies to improve symptoms and outcomes in patients with acute heart failure (AHF). The authors sought to summarize the effect of different combination strategies on symptoms, physical signs, physiological variables, and outcomes in patients with AHF. Twelve trials were identified that assessed the addition of thiazide diuretics, sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors, mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists, vasopressin receptor antagonists, carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, or loop diuretic intensification to conventional therapy for AHF.

Severe hypokalemia can primarily present as a weakness of the limbs, without any other clinical manifestation. A life-threatening level of decreased serum potassium level can be unusually present with isolated weakness of the limbs and might be misdiagnosed, or the diagnosis may be delayed.
