Purpose: We have previously reported an approach to ovarian stimulation for the purpose of fertility preservation (FP) in women with breast cancer via embryo freezing with the concurrent use of letrozole. The aim of this study was to provide the pregnancy and FP outcomes when embryos generated with the same protocol are used.
Patients And Methods: In all, 131 women with stage ≤ 3 breast cancer underwent ovarian stimulation and received concurrent letrozole 5 mg per day before receiving adjuvant chemotherapy and cryopreserving embryos.
Results: Thirty-three of the 131 women underwent 40 attempts to transfer embryos to their own uterus (n = 18) or via the use of a gestational carrier (n = 22) at a mean age of 41.5 ± 4.3 years with a median 5.25 years after embryo cryopreservation. The overall live birth rate per embryo transfer was similar to the US national mean among infertile women of a similar age undergoing in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (45.0 v 38.2; P = .2). Seven (38.8%) of the 18 pregnancies were twins with no higher-order pregnancies being encountered. No fetal anomalies or malformations were reported in 25 children after a mean follow-up of 40.4 ± 26.4 months. Seventeen of the 33 women attempting pregnancy had at least one child, translating into an FP rate of 51.5% per attempting woman.
Conclusion: Embryo cryopreservation after ovarian stimulation with the letrozole and follicle-stimulating hormone protocol preserves fertility in women with breast cancer and results in pregnancy rates comparable to those expected in a noncancer population undergoing in vitro fertilization.

Infertility has emerged as a significant global health concern. Assisted reproductive technology (ART) assists numerous infertile couples in conceiving, yet some experience repeated, unsuccessful cycles. This study aims to identify the pivotal clinical factors influencing the success of fresh embryo transfer of in vitro fertilization (IVF).

Unlike high-grade serous carcinoma (HGSC), which mainly affects postmenopausal women, mucinous ovarian carcinoma (MOC) affects younger patients, with a median age at diagnosis of 53 years, and is rare among premenopausal women. After they receive anticancer treatment, these women encounter specific issues involving fertility preservation (FP) and/or pregnancy, which potentially require assisted reproductive technology (ART) as well as the prescription of hormonal contraception (HC) or hormone replacement therapy (HRT). We reviewed the available literature in PubMed/Medline concerning the risks of the development of ovarian cancer (OC), including MOC, associated with ART, HC and HRT, and literature on the impact of ovarian stimulation in the context of FP and/or ART, HC and HRT in women previously treated for OC, including MOC.

Background: Growth hormone (GH) could improve the outcomes of fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET) in patients with decreased ovarian reserve (DOR), but which age group will benefit the most has remained controversial. This study aims to explore the outcome of IVF-ET among differently aged patients with DOR treated with GH.
Methods: A total of 846 patients with DOR undergoing IVF-ET from May 2018 to June 2023 at the Reproductive Medicine Center of Sichuan Provincial Women's and Children's Hospital were prospectively enrolled.

Anti-NMDA (N-methyl-D-aspartate) receptor encephalitis (ANRE) is a rare autoimmune condition targeting brain receptors, often linked to ovarian tumors in young women. In severe cases, it can lead to status epilepticus, but in sporadic cases, it may progress to super-refractory status epilepticus (SRSE), a dangerous state of continuous or repetitive seizures demanding urgent medical attention that continues or recurs more than 24 hours after the initiation of anesthetic therapy. We present a case report of anti-NMDA receptor limbic encephalitis-triggered SRSE terminated with vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) and titrated to high stimulation parameters in the immediate postoperative period.

Objective: To compare the number and outcomes of elective fertility preservation (FP) before and after the Covid-19 outbreak.
Methods: This retrospective study of 574 women who underwent elective FP between 01/2017-12/2021 included 123 women who underwent the procedure before and 451 who underwent it after the Covid-19 outbreak. The change in the number of women who underwent the procedure each month before and after the pandemic was calculated.
