Axillary clearance was undertaken in a 58-year-old male with massive lymph node enlargement caused by melanoma from an unknown primary site. We discovered a group of metastatic lymph nodes behind the axillary neurovascular bundle. This group of nodes (retro-axillary lymph nodes) could represent an extension of the subscapular group, or the seventh group of axillary lymphoid nodes. They were successfully removed using an ad hoc surgical technique, and the subsequent findings are presented herein. To check the frequency of these lymph nodes in this area, we conducted a study on 15 cadavers (30 armpits). The technique of cadaveric sampling is described. Retro-axillary tissue was histologically processed to determine the number of lymph nodes present. It was found that lymph nodes were present in the defined area in 18 of the 30 (60 %) armpits explored. We recommend assessment of the retro-axillary space during surgery entailing massive axillary lymph node involvement.

This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of ultrasonography in assessing the response of clipped axillary lymph nodes to neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Between February 2022 and September 2023, 43 patients who underwent axillary lymph node marking for targeted axillary dissection were retrospectively analyzed. Ultrasonography parameters such as the number, size, shape, cortical thickness, hilum status, and treatment response of the clipped lymph node were assessed.

Fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma (FL-HCC) is a primary liver tumour presenting at a young age. Aggressive surgery of FL-HCC is the mainstay of management unlike other malignancies where metastatic stage precludes curative surgery. There are limited reports of response of FL-HCC to systemic therapies predominantly owing to its rarity.

Background: Fluorescence-guided lymphadenectomy (FLND) using indocyanine green (ICG) has emerged as a promising technique to enhance the accuracy of lymphadenectomy in rectal cancer surgery. Effective lymphadenectomy is crucial for improving prognosis in patients with advanced rectal cancer, but it remains technically challenging and controversial.
Methods: This prospective nonrandomized controlled study was conducted involving 129 patients underwent laparoscopic surgery, and 64 patients assisted by FLND.

A 22-year-old woman presented with an ulcer on her right earlobe 2 months ago, with inflammation and enlarged ipsilateral lymph nodes in her neck. She was treated with antibiotics without success and then was referred to an infectious disease specialist. She has a cat at home with sporotrichosis, but without direct contact with the lesion, she did not remember any scratching by the cat.

Autophagosome cancer vaccines can promote cross-presentation of multiple tumour antigens and induce cross-reactive T cell responses. However, so far, there is no effective method for obtaining a highly immunogenic autophagosomal cancer vaccine because autophagosomes, once formed, quickly fuse with lysosomes and cannot easily escape from cells. Here we report a functional TiNX nanodot that caps the autophagosome membrane lipid phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate, blocking the fusion of autophagosomes with lysosomes and producing stable nanodot-coated autophagosomes in tumours.
