The most promising approach to attain a narrow linewidth and a large output power simultaneously in spin torque oscillators is self-phase-locking of an array of oscillators. Two long range coupling mechanisms, magnetostatic interaction and self-induced current, are explored. Synchronization occurs with MR ratio ~ 14% and volume ~ 2.1 × 10(-5) μm(3) at room temperature for an experimental frequency dispersion, when only the self-induced microwave current is present. The dipole interaction decreases the MR ratio requirement when the elements are properly spaced.

We present a novel technique for coherent beam combining of a three-aperture array. In our method, a retroreflector samples the beam from the edge of each aperture and redirects the sampled beams back through the gap in the center. The sampled beams contain both angle and phase information for the three-aperture array, which can be used to lock the phase and tip/tilt.

Phase noise reduces target sensitivity in radar and increases bit error rate in telecommunications systems. Optoelectronic oscillators are known for using optical fibre technology to realise the large delay required to attain superior phase noise performance compared to conventional microwave source technology. However, the long fibre is vulnerable to environmentally induced phase perturbations, while conventional phase shifters have insufficient range to compensate for the phase drift over the operational temperature range without the use of a temperature-controlled enclosure.

Phase-amplitude coupling (PAC), the coupling of the amplitude of a faster brain rhythm to the phase of a slower brain rhythm, plays a significant role in brain activity and has been implicated in various neurological disorders. For example, in Parkinson's disease, PAC between the beta (13-30 Hz) and gamma (30-100 Hz) rhythms in the motor cortex is exaggerated, while in Alzheimer's disease, PAC between the theta (4-8 Hz) and gamma rhythms is diminished. Modulating PAC (i.

Objectives: The puncture needle of an intelligent puncture robot must accurately reach the target location early in the diagnosis of benign and malignant nodules and in the puncture ablation of malignant tumors. To track the position and the orientation of the puncture needle tip, an electromagnetic tracking system based on adaptive adjustment of excitation intensity and lock-in amplification is proposed.
Methods: The system includes a time-sharing excitation device with multiple magnetic sources, a magnetic sensor, a signal processing device based on dual-phase lock-in amplifiers and a computing platform in the upper computer.

Background: Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) encompass a wide array of debilitating symptoms, including sensory dysfunction and delayed language development. Auditory temporal processing is crucial for speech perception and language development. Abnormal development of temporal processing may account for the language impairments associated with ASD.
