Purpose: Spontaneous abortion or miscarriage is the natural death of an embryo or foetus in the early stages of prenatal development. Interleukin-10 is an anti-inflammatory cytokine, produced by human cytotrophoblasts, and defects in its production result in specific pathological conditions during pregnancy. The present study is aimed to evaluate the association of IL-10 -1082G/A polymorphism in spontaneous abortions by comparing foetal, maternal and paternal groups--a triad study.

Methods: A total of 50 families with spontaneous abortions and 60 families with medically terminated pregnancies were considered for the present study. DNA from foetal tissue and parental blood samples were extracted, and the genotype analysis of IL-10 -1082G/A promoter polymorphism was carried out by amplification refractory mutation system-polymerase chain reaction followed by agarose gel electrophoresis. A statistical analysis was applied to test for the significance of the results.

Results: There was a statistically significant difference in the distribution of AA genotypes and A allele of IL-10 -1082G/A between the two family groups among foetuses (P = 0.0002) and mothers (P = 0.00005). The paternal group showed no significant difference in the genotype distribution of IL-10 between cases and controls.

Conclusion: In conclusion, IL-10 G-1082A gene promoter polymorphism may act as a major genetic regulator in the etiology of spontaneous abortions.

Moreover, the effect of IL-6 and IL-10 on Tac pharmacokinetics may differ with respect to the genetic variations in their genes. To examine the influence of IL-6 and IL-10 gene polymorphisms on Tac dose requirements and exposure over a 5-year period following kidney transplantation.

Autoimmune neutropenia (AIN) in early childhood is characterized by chronic neutropenia and positivity for human neutrophil antibodies (HNA), resulting in the excessive destruction of neutrophils. The association between regulatory T cells (Tregs) and AIN has been described, and in this study, we investigated three Treg-associated genes, IL-2, IL-10 and FOXP3. The frequencies of three single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in IL-2 -330T>G (rs2069762), +114G>T (rs2069763) and IVS3-116 A>G (rs2069772), four SNPs in IL-10 -3575T>A (rs1800890), -1082G>A (rs1800896), -819 C>T (rs1800871) and -592 C>A (rs1800872) and three SNPs in FOXP3 -3499 A>G (rs3761547), -3279 C>A (rs3761548) and -924 A>G (rs2232365) were compared between 166 Danish AIN patients and 358 healthy controls.

Studies on the association between gene polymorphisms of various inflammatory factors and liver cirrhosis have been inconsistent. The purpose of this study was to comprehensively summarize the available evidence on the association between gene polymorphisms of inflammatory factors and liver cirrhosis through a systematic review. We searched databases of PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library for relevant articles published from building databases to 25 September 2022.

Background: Several records have reported that single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) at the interleukin 10 (IL-10)-1082G/A locus affects the risk of acute lung injury/respiratory distress syndrome (ALI/RDS), but the exact association between them has not been elucidated.

Objective: This systematic review aims to elucidate the relationship between SNP at the IL-10-1082G/A locus and susceptibility to ALI/RDS by the method of meta-analysis, to identify the early warning indicators of ALI/RDS.

Methods: Studies on IL-10-1082G/A SNP associated with ALI/RDS were obtained by thorough retrieval of four English databases from each database construction to April 1, 2022.
