Unlabelled: The article presents the results of an experimental morphological study of biointegration of different eyelid weight implants used for paralytic lagophthalmos correction.

Aim: To investigate biointegration features of gold monolithic and chain implants.

Material And Methods: The study enrolled 11 Chinchilla rabbits (22 eyelids). Light and scanning electron microscopy was performed 2 weeks, 1, 2, 3 and 6 months after the implantation.

Results: Over the whole follow-up period chain implants capsules remained more integrated with surrounding connective tissue than those of monolithic implants.

Conclusion: The obtained results prove better immobilization of a gold chain implant preventing it from dislocation in the late postoperative period.

Background: Fulminant myocarditis (FM) is a potentially lethal disease with a wide spectrum of clinical presentation, thus making the diagnosis hard to depict. In cases where acute circulatory failure occurs venoarterial (VA) extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) support is a valid management strategy, especially in the pediatric and adult patients. This study aims to report the results of VA ECMO for FM in our Institution.

Open ankle fractures in the elderly are increasingly common, with significant morbidity and mortality. Management is challenging due to poor soft tissue conditions, comorbidities, and limited functional independence. While traditional surgical options include external fixation or open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF), hindfoot nail (HFN) fixation may offer advantages, including immediate weight-bearing and reduced immobilisation complications.

Background: Femoral condyle insufficiency fractures following total knee arthroplasty (FCIF-TKA) are rare but significant complications. These fractures, characterized by atraumatic bone insufficiency near the femoral component, present unique challenges in postoperative care, often necessitating femoral component revision.

Methods: This study retrospectively reviewed 835 primary total knee arthroplasties performed by a single surgeon, identifying six cases of FCIF-TKA.
