Host-guest interactions between a synthetic receptor, cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7]), and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) have been quantified using isothermal titration calorimetry. AuNPs were functionalized with ligands containing tertiary or quaternary benzylamine derivatives, with electron donating or withdrawing groups at the position of the benzene ring. Analysis of binding interactions reveals that functional groups at the position have no significant effect on binding constant. However, headgroups bearing a permanent positive charge increased the binding of AuNPs to CB[7] ten-fold compared to monomethyl counterparts.

Glycoproteins are of significant value to liquid biopsy of human diseases. Herein, we present a universal electrochemical platform for the amplified detection of glycoproteins, taking advantage of the glycan-matchmade multivalent decoration of enzyme labels for the enzymatic signal amplification. Briefly, the glycan-matchmade multivalent decoration involves two steps, i.

Antibiotic residue detection plays an important role in protecting human health, but real-time, rapid, and highly sensitive detection is still challenging. Herein, gold and silver nanoparticles (Au-Ag NPs) were grown on the surface of optical fibers and a 50 nm thick gold film was deposited on the sensor's surface to fabricate the Au-Ag@Au fiber SPR sensor. The sensitivity of the sensor reached 3512 nm per RIU in the refractive index range of 1.

Metallic nanostructures play a vital role in technological advancement, providing exceptional performance and improved adaptability in comparison to their bulk equivalents. Conventional synthesis techniques frequently depend on dangerous reducing agents to transform metal ions into Nanoparticles (NPs), which presents considerable environmental and health issues. In contrast, the approach of green synthesis, which emphasizes the use of non-toxic reagents, has garnered significant interest as a sustainable method for the fabrication of Metallic Nanoparticles (MNPs).

Membrane-based gas separation offers a promising alternative route to energy-intensive industrial gas separation processes. Conventional microporous membranes often exhibit low gas selectivities for gases with similar kinetic diameters, primarily due to large pore sizes and reliance on Knudsen selectivity. In this study, we present self-assembled gold nanoparticle (Au NP) membranes that enable molecular gas separation within the kinetic diameter range of small gases such as H, CO, and O.
