Background And Objectives: The pharmacokinetics (PK) of piperacillin/tazobactam (PIP/TAZ) is highly variable across different patient populations and there are controversies regarding non-linear elimination as well as the fraction unbound of PIP (f). This has led to a plethora of subgroup-specific models, increasing the risk of misusing published models when optimising dosing regimens. In this study, we aimed to develop a single model to simultaneously describe the PK of PIP/TAZ in diverse patient populations and evaluate the current dosing recommendations by predicting the PK/pharmacodynamics (PD) target attainment throughout life.

This research employs the treadmill of production (ToP) and legitimacy theories to examine the relationship between deforestation, ecological footprints, and corporate environmental responsibility (CER) in the context of green criminology within the Malaysian palm oil industry. The study employs a regression analysis to assess the connection between deforestation (total palm oil-planted hectares) and ecological footprints data spanning 2008 to 2018. Additionally, content analysis investigates the CER practices of 40 palm oil companies listed on Bursa Malaysia between 2016 and 2019.

Background: The design of smart, photoactivated nanomaterials for targeted drug delivery systems (DDS) has garnered significant research interest due in part to the ability of light to precisely control drug release in specific cells or tissues with high spatial and temporal resolution. The development of effective light-triggered DDS involves mechanisms including photocleavage, photoisomerization, photopolymerization, photosensitization, photothermal phenomena, and photorearrangement, which permit response to ultraviolet (UV), visible (Vis), and/or Near Infrared (NIR) light. This review explores recent advancements in light-responsive small molecules, polymers, and nanocarriers, detailing their underlying mechanisms and utility for drug delivery and/or imaging.

Objective: Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is an autosomal recessive neuromuscular disease characterized by proximal muscle weakness and atrophy. The increasing availability of disease-modifying therapies has prompted the development of biomarkers to facilitate clinical assessments. We explored the association between disease severity and serum creatinine (Crn) levels in SMA patients undergoing up to two years of treatment with nusinersen.
