Platinum agents are drugs used for various types of cancer. With increased frequency of administration of platinum agents, hypersensitivity reactions appear more frequently, occurring in over 25% of cases from the seventh cycle or second line onward. It then becomes difficult to conduct treatment using these agents. Various approaches have been investigated to address hypersensitivity reactions to platinum agents. Desensitization, which gradually increases the concentration of the anticancer drug considered to be the antigen until the target dosage, has been reported as being particularly effective, with a success rate of 80-100%. The aims of this paper are to present the current findings regarding hypersensitivity reactions to platinum agents and to discuss attempts of using desensitization against hypersensitivity reactions worldwide.

In the last two decades, many Schiff bases have been investigated due to the importance of their metal complexes in the medical field and drug industry. The Schiff base metal complexes have several applications as anticancer agents because they have a high binding ability to nucleic acids (DNA and RNA). The Schiff base HL, derived from the condensation of 2-phenylacetohydrazide and 2-hydroxynaphthaldehyde, was reacted with Fe, Zn, Cd, and Pt to form the unique metal complexes [Fe(HL)], [Zn(HL)](CHCOO), [Cd(HL)](CHCOO), and [Pt(HL)Cl].

Gender- and sex-based disparities in response to immune-checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) has been reported in a variety of tumor types. Women have different anatomy with recurrent urinary tract infections, a different sex hormonal profile, and intrinsic differences in local and systemic immune systems and urobiome composition. Existing literature data in a pan-cancer context reveal contradictory results, and real-world evidence in urothelial carcinoma (UC) is lacking.

Approximately 40% of marketed drugs and 75% of invested drugs in the pharmaceutical field are poorly soluble hydrophobic drugs with minimal solubility in water which make them difficult to be absorbed by the body and significantly limiting their applications. Among chemotherapeutic agents, numerous antitumor drugs such as platinum compounds, camptothecin, paclitaxel and others are also restricted in processing and preparation due to solubility issues. Therefore, improving the solubility and enhancing the therapeutic efficacy of drugs have always been significant research topics in current pharmaceutics.

Nanoradiosensitizers containing high Z-group elements have been reported widely as potential candidates for radiotherapy. However, the specific regulatory mechanism is unclear, and biodegradability needs to be addressed urgently. We synthesized a silk sericin-containing nano assembly, Pt@BiSe-RGD (PBR).

Ovarian cancer is a highly lethal gynecological malignancy with common platinum resistance. Lactylation is involved in multiple biological processes. Thus, we explored the role of histone and non-histone lactylation in platinum resistance, providing a potential therapeutic target to overcome platinum resistance in ovarian cancer.
