A 73-year-old man presented to casualty with a penetrating orbital injury and total loss of vision in the affected eye. He subsequently spontaneously recovered full vision. We stress the need for frequent assessment of vision before considering potentially hazardous surgical intervention.

Selective recovery of rare earth elements (REEs) from environmental waste is strategically significant. Herein, Ce(III) imprinted EDTA modified chitosan-magnetic graphene oxide (IIP-EDTA-CS-MGO) was prepared for selective recovery of Ce(III). Furthermore, adsorption mechanism was clarified based on versatile adsorption fittings and spectroscopic tests.

Temperature management plays a critical role in the neurological recovery of cardiac arrest survivors. While advanced device-based temperature control systems are prevalent in high-resource settings, their implementation in low-resource environments remains a challenge. This study aimed to examine the impact of fever prevention on neurological outcomes in cardiac arrest survivors managed without device-based temperature control.

Brachial plexus birth injury (BPBI) is a condition affecting newborns and involves damage to the nerve fibers compromising the brachial plexus during birth. Although most newborns recover spontaneously, a large subset require surgery to regain function, and others will have permanent disability despite intervention. Deciding when to pursue surgical intervention remains a challenge for clinicians treating BPBI.

Environmental changes are a growing concern, as they exert pressures on ecosystems. In some cases, such changes lead to shifts in ecosystem structure. However, species can adapt to changes through evolution, and it is unclear how evolution interacts with regime shifts, which restricts ecosystem management strategies.
