Purpose: To compare the optical performance of aspheric intraocular lenses (IOLs) designed to correct the corneal spherical aberration versus spherical IOLs in pediatric eyes after cataract surgery.
Methods: In this prospective study, 40 eyes of patients 6 to 16 years old with developmental cataract were randomly assigned to receive a spherical IOL or an aspheric IOL after pediatric cataract surgery. At 3 months postoperatively, the outcomes compared between the two groups were best-corrected visual acuity, contrast sensitivity, and wavefront aberrometry.
Results: The mean best-corrected visual acuity was 0.32 ± 0.19 logMAR in the spherical IOL group and 0.28 ± 0.16 logMAR in the aspheric IOL group (P = .179). The aspheric IOL group showed better contrast sensitivity at 1.5, 3, and 6 cycles per degree than the spherical IOL group (P < .05). Total ocular aberrations, higher-order aberrations, and spherical aberrations were significantly lower in the aspheric IOL group (P < .05).
Conclusions: The results suggest that aspheric IOLs compensate for the spherical aberration of pediatric eyes. In comparison to spherical IOLs, eyes with aspheric IOLs had decreased ocular aberrations, particularly spherical aberration, which contributed to better contrast sensitivity in these eyes. Further studies are required to evaluate the role of aspheric IOLs in children.

Purpose: To describe the clinical characteristics of glaucoma-related adverse events (GRAE) after pediatric cataract surgery. More importantly, to identify the factors associated with the time of GRAE onset and the preferred anti-glaucomatous surgical procedure for this disease.
Methods: Hospitalized medical records of patients who developed GRAE, which include glaucoma and glaucoma suspect, after pediatric cataract surgery (surgical age ≤ 14 years) between 1994 and 2021 were retrospectively reviewed.

Introduction: In today's world, it is of great importance to raise qualified learners whose creative thinking skills and self-efficacy are developed and who can make various choices and take responsibility for their choices as well as implementing them by making their own decisions. In this regard, the study examined the role of gifted students' self-efficacy (SE) as a mediator on the relationship between autonomous learning (AL) and creative cognition (CC).
Methods: A proposed conceptual model was tested using a cross-sectional survey design.

Aim: To investigate the influence of postoperative intraocular lens (IOL) positions on the accuracy of cataract surgery and examine the predictive factors of postoperative biometry prediction errors using the Barrett Universal II (BUII) IOL formula for calculation.
Methods: The prospective study included patients who had undergone cataract surgery performed by a single surgeon from June 2020 to April 2022. The collected data included the best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), corneal curvature, preoperative and postoperative central anterior chamber depths (ACD), axial length (AXL), IOL power, and refractive error.

Objective: To compare the rate of cataract surgery complications in patients with and without prior intravitreal injection (IVI) pharmacotherapy.
Design: A retrospective cohort study was performed using the TriNetX (Cambridge, MA) aggregated electronic health records research network.
Subjects: Patients with a history of IVI therapy within twenty years of cataract surgery were compared to a control group using propensity score matching (PSM) to balance for baseline demographics, systemic, and ocular co-morbidities.
