Background And Purpose: Angioplasty and endovascular stent placement is used in case to rescue the coverage of main branches to supply blood to brain from aortic arch in thoracic endovascular aortic repair. This study assessed mechanical properties, especially differences in radial force, of different endovascular and thoracic stents.
Material And Methods: We analyzed the radial force of three stent models (Epic, E-Luminexx and SMART) stents using radial force-tester method in single or overlapping conditions. We also analyzed radial force in three thoracic stents using Mylar film testing method: conformable Gore-TAG, Relay, and Valiant Thoracic Stent Graft.
Results: Overlapping SMART stents had greater radial force than overlapping Epic or Luminexx stents (P < 0.01). The radial force of the thoracic stents was greater than that of all three endovascular stents (P < 0.01).
Conclusions: Differences in radial force depend on types of stents, site of deployment, and layer characteristics. In clinical settings, an understanding of the mechanical characteristics, including radial force, is important in choosing a stent for each patient.

An automated micro-tweezers system with a flexible workspace would benefit the intelligent sorting of live cells. Such micro-tweezers could employ a forced vortex strong enough to capture a single cell. Furthermore, addressable control of the position to the vortex would constitute a robotic system.

Objective: The use of vertical margin design in all-ceramic restoration has generated inquiries regarding its clinical efficacy under diverse dynamic oral conditions. This research aims to assess the marginal fit and fracture resistance of monolithic zirconia crowns featuring vertical margin design as opposed to those with conventional horizontal margin design.
Materials And Methods: Two metal dies were employed to generate replicated resin dies mimicking mandibular first molar preparation.

Purpose: This study aims to analyze microvascular reconstruction in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) in Europe.
Methods: Based on previous studies, a dynamic online questionnaire was developed and subjected to internal and external evaluation. The questionnaire comprised multiple-choice, rating, and open-ended questions, addressing general and specific aspects and the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on microvascular reconstruction in OMFS in Europe.

Electron transfer is ubiquitous in many chemical reactions and biological phenomena; however, the spatial heterogeneities of electron transfer kinetics in electrocatalysis are so far insufficiently resolved. Measuring and understanding the localized electron transfer are crucial to deciphering the intrinsic activity of electrocatalysts and to achieving further improvements in performance. By using scanning electrochemical probe microscopy to spatially resolve redox electrochemistry across the single-crystalline surface of gold microplates, we discover an intriguing radially distributed electron transfer pattern, where the kinetics around the periphery region are significantly higher than those at the central region, regardless of the redox reaction types.

Single atom alloys (SAAs) have gained tremendous attention as promising materials with unique physicochemical properties, particularly in catalysis. The stability of SAAs relies on the formation of a single active dopant on the surface of a metal host, quantified by the surface segregation and aggregation energy. Previous studies have investigated the surface segregation of non-ligated and ligated SAAs to reveal the driving forces underlying such phenomena.
