Neonatal veterinarians still observe higher mortality rates among their patients than those observed among humans. Establishment of a neonatal assessment protocol is fundamental to the identification of the medical status of the neonate and the need for medical intervention. The neonatal Apgar score evaluation, which is commonly used in clinical practice, should be complemented by other methods of analysis. This study proposes, in addition to an Apgar score analysis, the evaluation of laboratory parameters and weight. We believe that knowledge of these reference values is essential for diagnosing at-risk neonates and for establishing suitable treatments.

Background: Pregnancy-related anatomic, physiologic, and hormonal factors can occur at different stages of pregnancy and affect sleep disturbances. The relationship between sleep problems during pregnancy and postpartum depressive symptoms as well as neonatal condition at delivery have not been well described. This study hypothesized that sleep problems are associated with postpartum depressive symptoms and adverse neonatal outcomes at delivery.

Objective: To evaluate whether, in late pregnancy, the cerebral Doppler can identify very small fetuses that are less likely to experience intrapartum compromise (IC).
Material And Methods: This was a retrospective study of 282 singleton pregnancies that underwent an ultrasound scan at 32 + 0- 40 + 6 weeks and were delivered after induction, or spontaneous onset of labor. Very small fetuses were defined as fetuses with estimated weight less than the 3rd centile.

: The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between conventional and novel Doppler parameters, including cerebroplacental ratio (CPR), cerebral-placental-uterine ratio (CPUR), umbilical-to-cerebral ratio (UCR), and amniotic-to-umbilical-cerebral ratio (AUCR), with the diagnosis of preeclampsia (PE) and adverse neonatal outcomes in PE cases. : This prospective case-control study was conducted at the Ankara Etlik City Hospital Perinatology Clinic between November 2023 and May 2024. The study population was divided into two groups: Group 1, consisting of 74 patients diagnosed with preeclampsia, and Group 2, consisting of 80 healthy control patients.

Pregnancy-associated cancer (PAC) presents significant challenges for maternal and neonatal health, and yet its impact on neonatal outcomes remains poorly understood. This systematic review aims to evaluate the neonatal risks associated with PAC. A systematic search of PubMed, Embase, Scopus, and other databases was conducted up to 1 November 2024, identifying observational studies and randomized controlled trials assessing neonatal outcomes in pregnancies affected by PAC.

This research investigates the impact of exogenous and endogenous factors on fetal health in pregnant women under the age of 18, with a special focus on the influence of educational level, adherence to vices (smoking and alcohol), comorbidities (diabetes and hypertension), and poor sanitary conditions. The study uses retrospective data collected from a medical institution in the Southeast region of Romania, including a sample of 3639 births during the post-pandemic period (2022-2023). This period was considered to be a reference period for the study because, as a result of measures to combat the spread of COVID-19 disease in the pandemic, there was an increase in the birth rate among patients under 18 years of age.
