Background And Objectives: An external ventricular drain (EVD) placement is a commonly performed life-saving procedure. Its accidental pullout can occur in complex environments, patient care, and positioning, which leads to significant morbidity. The method of EVD fixation and pullout rates is sparsely described in the literature, and there exists a wide variation among the techniques practiced for fixation.

Introduction: The usual cause of a distal tibial fracture is a high-energy trauma. Although multiple options are available for their treatment such as intramedullary nailing, open plating, and external fixator, each of these options might result in a non-union. Knowing the type of non-union not only allows us to guess the cause but also directs us toward the best possible treatment.

Introduction: Combat-related injuries from improvised explosive devices occur commonly to the lower extremity and spine. As the underbody blast impact loading traverses from the seat to pelvis to spine, energy transfer occurs through deformations of the combined pelvis-sacrum-lumbar spine complex, and the time factor plays a role in injury to any of these components. Previous studies have largely ignored the role of the time variable in injuries, injury mechanisms, and warfighter tolerance.
