Aim: Characteristics of quantitative and qualitative composition of cultured microorganisms isolated from axilla skin of practically healthy individuals.

Materials And Methods: 77 practically healthy individuals aged 18 to 40 years were examined. Species identification of microorganisms was carried out byculture-morphologic, tinctorial and biochemical properties using time-of-flight mass spectrometer and rpoB gene amplification with subsequent direct sequencing.

Results: Quantitative evaluation of microbial composition of axilla skin microbiota in most of the practically healthy individuals varied in the 4-5 lg CFU/ml interval, whereas seeding of skin by this microbiota at the level of 8 lg CFU/ml was not detected. 158 strains of 24 microorganism species were identified in this biotope. Most of these strains (68.9%) belonged to Corynebacterium genus, 21.6% of strains--to Staphylococcus genus, 7.6% of strains--to Micrococcus genus and 1.9% of strains--Candida albicans. 16 species of corynebacteria were isolated with predomination of C. tuberculostearicum (40.3%), C. amycolatum (18.4%) and C. ureicelerivorans (14.8%) strains. The microbial landscape in most of the examined individuals (77.9%) was presented by microorganism association.

Conclusion: Quantitative and qualitative species composition of cultured microorganisms isolated from axilla skin biotope of practically healthy individuals was characterized for the first time.

Background: The recruitment of individuals for Alzheimer's disease (AD) genetic studies particularly those with low socioeconomic status, and living in rural areas remains a challenge in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), due to stigma-related cultural beliefs that hinder their participation. The Recruitment and Retention of Alzheimer's Disease Diversity Genetic Cohorts in the ADSP (READD - ADSP) project is a case-control genetic epidemiological study involving individuals who are living with AD and disease - free healthy control individuals. The aim is to build a resource that greatly expands Alzheimer's disease genetic studies in the currently underrepresented African ancestry populations and Hispanic/Latinx individuals.

Background: This prediction model quantifies the risk of cognitive impairment. This aim of this study was to develop and validate a prediction model to calculate the 6-year risk of cognitive impairment.

Methods: Participants from the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey (CLHLS) 2008-2014 and 2011-2018 surveys were included for developing the cognitive impairment prediction model.

Background: Studies show that tube feeding does not improve clinical outcomes, and professional guidelines recommend against its use for individuals with advanced dementia. Yet, our preliminary work demonstrates a preference for tube feeding among Chinese-American dementia caregivers. We propose linguistic and cultural adaptation of "Making Choices: Feeding Options for Patients with Dementia (MCFODA) to create the Chinese version of this efficacious decision aid intervention.

Background: Guidelines that provide current and comprehensive overviews of the evidence quality and effectiveness of interventions that address behaviours and psychological symptoms associated with dementia (BPSD, also known as Changed Behaviours) are needed for clinicians, professional care staff and family care partners. With funding provided by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care, we aimed to update the existing Behaviour Management: A Guide to Good Practice, Managing Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (2012) text and app resources to reflect findings from the most recent literature and other sources.

Methods: We systematically searched PubMed, Medline, Embase, and PsycINFO for psychosocial and environmental and biological and pharmacological interventions published between 2012-2021 that addressed BPSD.

Background: The Integration and Evaluation of a Community-Level Dementia Screening Programme in rural KenYa (DEM-SKY) program, supported by the Davos Alzheimer's Collaborative, leverages existing community resources to promote early detection of dementia among older adults and strengthen health system policy and practice in Kenya.

Methods: The DEM-SKY program consisted of two key components: a training component and dementia screening component using then brief Community Screening Instrument for Dementia (brief-CSID). The training component was divided into two stakeholder groups: Community Health Workers (CHWs) and hospital staff.
