Objective: To explore whether microneedle pretreatment can significantly improve the efficacy and safety of 5-aminolevulinic acid (ALA)-photodynamic therapy (PDT) in the treatment of oral leukoplakia.
Methods: A non-randomized controlled clinical trial was conducted. Patients with clinical and pathological diagnosis of oral leukoplakia in the Department of Oral Mucosa, Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology were divided into experimental group and control group.

Background: Recent years have seen the use of photodynamic technologies concerning the detection and therapy of bladder cancer (BC) due to their rapid development and well-established therapeutic impact. However, a thorough analysis and bibliometric assessment of photodynamic technologies publishing trends in BC has not been completed yet.
Methods: Retrieving bibliographies from the Web of Science Core Collection limited the publication date to December 31, 2023, from January 1, 2004.

Bacterial infections present a significant threat to human health, a challenge that is intensified by the slow pace of novel antibiotic development and the swift emergence of bacterial resistance. The development of novel antibacterial agents is crucial. Indocyanine green (ICG), a widely used imaging dye, efficiently generates reactive oxygen species (ROS) and heat for treating bacterial infections but suffers from aggregation and instability, limiting its efficacy.

The combination of molybdenum disulfide (MoS) with plasmonic nanomaterials has opened up new possibilities in biological applications by combining MoS's biocompatibility and high surface area with the optical sensitivity of plasmonic metals. These MoS-plasmonic hybrid systems hold great promise in areas such as biosensing, bioimaging, and phototherapy, where their complementary properties facilitate improved detection, real-time visualization, and targeted therapeutic interventions. MoS's adjustable optical features, combined with the plasmon resonance of noble metals such as gold and silver, enhance signal amplification, enabling detailed imaging and selective photothermal or photodynamic therapies while minimizing effects on healthy tissue.
