Introduction: Alternate electrocardiogram acquisition with fewer leads lacks systematic evaluation in children. This study aims to determine if electrocardiograms with fewer leads maintain diagnostic accuracy in paediatrics.

Methods: This is a single-centre review of 200 randomly selected standard 12-lead electrocardiograms from our hospital database (2017-2020) for patients aged 2 weeks to 21 years.

Objective: The present study was conducted to assess the accuracy and reliability of portable 12‑lead electrocardiography (ECG) devices in patients with heart disease.

Materials And Methods: This single-center, prospective, blinded study enrolled 62 patients between September and October 2023 from the Heart Center of a Class III hospital. In sequential tests on each patient, heart rate (HR) and the PR, QT, QTc and QRS intervals of ECG recordings obtained with a portable 12‑lead device (Weheal, CN) were compared with those obtained via conventional 12‑lead ECG.

Article Synopsis
  • - This study focuses on the increased risk of cardiovascular diseases, specifically right ventricular (RV) dysfunction, in people living with HIV (PLWH) in northwest Nigeria, emphasizing the need for more research in low- and middle-income settings.
  • - Researchers conducted a retrospective analysis of 330 adults, including HIV-positive individuals and age- and sex-matched HIV-negative controls, using advanced imaging techniques to evaluate heart function.
  • - Results indicated that 14.5% of HIV-positive participants showed signs of RV dysfunction, linked to factors like age and left ventricular ejection fraction, while no HIV-negative participants exhibited such dysfunction.

Unlabelled: We encountered a case of coronary angina refractory to multiple medications, including a calcium channel blocker, nitroglycerin, fasudil (a Rho kinase inhibitor), left stellate ganglion block, thoracic sympathetic ganglion blockade, steroids, and denopamine. During the course of treatment, ventricular tachycardia (VT) occurred due to ST-segment elevation, and an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator was implanted; however, the patient had recurrent VT. A 12‑lead electrocardiogram showed ST elevation localized to leads II, III, and a Vf, and stenting was performed in all main trunks of the right coronary artery.

Introduction: Conventional three-lead ambulatory electrocardiogram recording (3L-AECG) is used for the quantitative diagnosis of arrhythmias. However, the lack of crucial information, such as QRS morphology and orientation, renders the 3L-AECG incomplete for planning electrophysiological interventions. The 12-lead AECG (12L-AECG) merges the temporal resolution 3L-AECG with the spatial resolution of the standard electrocardiogram (S-ECG).
