Recent calls for Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) education to cultivate the affective domain or "habits of the heart" have highlighted a gap in curricula, where cognitive and psychomotor learning domains are often the focus. Background: Upazila Health Complexes (UzHC) serve as the backbone of primary healthcare (PHC) at the sub-district level in Bangladesh, delivering comprehensive healthcare services including both inpatient and outpatient services to the grassroots levels. However, not all the prescribed medicines and diagnostics services are always available at these facilities for outpatient care. This results in out-of-pocket expenditure (OOPE) to the patients for getting prescribed medicines and diagnostics services which has not been properly explored.

PURPOSE OF REVIEW: Narrative review of the author's main contributions to the field of cardiovascular health spanning four decades, with a focus on findings related to 1- the pathophysiology of obesity, insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease, and 2- the management/prevention of these conditions. Particular attention is given to the importance of regular physical activity. RECENT FINDINGS: Because behaviors and their physiological consequences are still not measured in clinical practice, it is proposed to systematically assess and target "lifestyle vital signs" (waist circumference, cardiorespiratory fitness, food-based diet quality and level of leisure-time physical activity) in primary care.

Alzheimer's Disease (AD), a progressive and age-associated neurodegenerative disorder, is primarily characterized by amyloid-beta (Aβ) plaques and neurofibrillary tangles. Despite advances in targeting Aβ-mediated neuronal damage with anti-Aβ antibodies, these treatments provide only symptomatic relief and fail to address the multifactorial pathology of the disease. This necessitates the exploration of novel therapeutic approaches and a deeper understanding of molecular signaling mechanisms underlying AD.

The diagnostic criteria for Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Fatty Liver Disease (MAFLD) and Metabolic Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD) aim to refine the classification of fatty liver diseases previously grouped under Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD). This study evaluates the applicability of the MAFLD and MASLD frameworks in NAFLD patients, exploring their clinical utility in identifying high-risk patients. A total of 369 NAFLD patients were assessed using MAFLD and MASLD diagnostic criteria.
