In this report we review the possibilities of using colloids with surface mobile linkers for the study of colloidal self-assembly processes. A promising route to create systems with mobile linkers is the use of lipid (bi-)layers. These lipid layers can be either used in the form of vesicles or as coatings for hard colloids and emulsion droplets. Inside the lipid bilayers molecules can be inserted via membrane anchors. Due to the fluidity of the lipid bilayer, the anchored molecules remain mobile. The use of different lipid mixtures even allows creating Janus-like particles that exhibit directional bonding if linkers are used which have a preference for a certain lipid phase. In nature mobile linkers can be found e.g. as receptors in cells. Therefore, towards the end of the review, we also briefly address the possibility of using colloids with surface mobile linkers as model systems to mimic cell-cell interactions and cell adhesion processes.

The valid method was developed for analyzing empagliflozin in serum/plasma/urine using a molecularly imprinted ghost polymer-solid-phase extraction approach (MISPE) with liquid chromatographic methodology. Methacrylic acid (MAA) was used as the monomer, 2,2 azobis isobutyronitrile as the initiator and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as the cross-linker in the free radical polymerization procedure. Empagliflozin was loaded onto the polymer and eluted with 1 mL of a 9:1 MeOH:acetic acid solution.

3,4-Dihydroxycyclobut-3-ene-1,2-dione (squaric acid, SQ) is the most important representative of the oxocarbon acids family. Squaric acid derivatives can be promising pharmaceutical agents, due to their unique structural properties, from which novel drugs benefit: a planar aromatic ring, the ability to form hydrogen bonds, good reactivity and similarity with carboxylate, phosphate and amide groups. These properties make it suitable for three major applications in cancer treatment.

Hydroxides exhibit a high theoretical capacity for energy storage by ion release and are often intercalated with anions to enhance the ion migration kinetics. In this study, a series of metal-hydroxide organic frameworks (MHOFs) are synthesized by intercalating aromatic organic linkers into hydroxides using I-M/Ni(OH) (where M = Co, Cu, Mg, Fe). The coordination environment and layer spacing (1.

We performed multiscale simulations of analyte sorption and diffusion in hierarchical porosity models of monolithic silica columns for reversed-phase liquid chromatography to investigate how the mean mesopore size of the chromatographic bed and the analyte-specific interaction with the chromatographic interface influence the analyte diffusivity at various length scales. The reproduced experimental conditions comprised the retention of six analyte compounds of low to moderate solute polarity on a silica-based, endcapped, C stationary phase with water‒acetonitrile and water-methanol mobile phases whose elution strength was varied via the volumetric solvent ratio. Detailed information about the analyte-specific interfacial dynamics received from molecular dynamics simulations was incorporated through appropriate linker schemes into Brownian dynamics diffusion simulations in three hierarchical porosity models received from physical reconstructions of silica monoliths with a mean macropore size of 1.

SCs can be disguised in various ways and are commonly sold in the form of electronic cigarette oil. SCs belong to a large family with structures consisting of a core with substituents, linker, ring with substituents, and tail.
