A novel heterometallic Co6Fe6 Schiff base complex, possessing an unprecedented {M12(μ-X)22} branched structure (according to the search via the Cambridge Structural Database), has been prepared using the "direct synthesis" approach and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction and magnetometry.

The classic plant growth-promoting phytohormone cytokinin has been identified and established as a mediator of pathogen resistance in different plant species. However, the resistance effect of structurally different cytokinins appears to vary and may regulate diverse mechanisms to establish resistance. Hence, we comparatively analysed the impact of six different adenine- and phenylurea-type cytokinins on the well-established pathosystem Nicotiana tabacum-Pseudomonas syringae.

Ischemic stroke (IS) remains a leading cause of disability and mortality worldwide, and inflammation and oxidative stress play significant roles in its pathogenesis. This study investigates the effects of dihydromyricetin (DHM) on IS using RT-qPCR and western blot with SH-SY5Y cells, focusing on its effects on the small nucleolar RNA host gene 10 (SNHG10)/microRNA (miR)-665/Ras association domain family member 5 (RASSF5) axis and nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) signaling. In addition, the effects of the SNHG10/miR-665/RASSF5 axis on SH-SY5Y cell activity, apoptosis, oxidative stress, and inflammatory markers were analyzed using 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide, flow cytometry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays.

Introduction: Unfolded Von Willebrand Factor (VWF) is increased in thrombotic pathologies such as myocardial infarction. Unfolded VWF mediates the binding of platelets without the need for collagen. β-glycoprotein I (β-GPI) is a natural inhibitor of the platelet-VWF interaction.

Outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) and exosomes are essential mediators of host-pathogen interactions. Elucidating their mechanisms of action offers valuable insights into diagnosing and treating infectious diseases and cancers. However, the specific interactions of () with host cells via OMVs and exosomes in modulating host immune responses have not been thoroughly investigated.

Background: Lichen planus (LP), an autoimmune disorder, remains incompletely understood in terms of its etiological mechanisms. This study aims to elucidate causal relationships among immune cell populations, plasma metabolites, and lichen planus using Mendelian randomization (MR) techniques.
Methods: Employing a two-sample, two-step MR approach, with single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) serving as genetic instruments for both exposures and mediators, this study minimizes biases from confounding and reverse causality.
