An experimental technique for the indirect manipulation and detection of electron spins entangled in two-dimensional magnetoexcitons has been developed. The kinetics of the spin relaxation has been investigated. Photoexcited spin-magnetoexcitons were found to exhibit extremely slow relaxation in specific quantum Hall systems, fabricated in high mobility GaAs/AlGaAs structures; namely, the relaxation time reaches values over one hundred microseconds. A qualitative explanation of this spin-relaxation kinetics is presented. Its temperature and magnetic field dependencies are discussed within the available theoretical framework.

Rechargeable sodium-chlorine (Na-Cl) batteries show high theoretical specific energy density and excellent adaptability for extreme environmental applications. However, the reported cycle life is mostly less than 500 cycles, and the understanding of battery failure mechanisms is quite limited. In this work, we demonstrate that the substantially increased voltage polarization plays a critical role in the battery failure.

The gene family is widely distributed in animals and plants and is involved in the regulation of their growth and development. In plants, genes play important roles in hormone signaling, biotic and abiotic stress, light-regulated photomorphogenesis, flowering, shade response, and pigment accumulation. However, there has been no systematic analysis of the family in × .

The simultaneous and accurate detection of intracellular pH (pH) and extracellular pH (pH) is essential for studying the complex physiological activities of cancer cells and exploring pH-related therapeutic mechanisms. Here, we developed a super-long silver nanowire-based surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) detection strategy for simultaneous sensing of pH and pH. A surface-roughened silver nanowire (AgNW) with a high aspect ratio is prepared at a nanoelectrode tip using a Cu-mediated oxidation process, which is then modified by pH-sensitive 4-mercaptobenzoic acid (4-MBA) to form 4-MBA@AgNW as a pH sensing probe.

Ni-Co binary hydroxide (NiCo(OH)) with nanostructure is prepared by one-step electrochemical deposition process with de-ionized water as electrolyte. The molar ratio of Ni/Co for NiCo(OH)can be accurately controlled via changing the composition of the alloy target. A series of typical hydroxides are synthesized with Ni/Co molar ratios of 1:2, 1:3, 1:4, 1:6, 6:1, 4:1, 3:1, 2:1 and 1:1.

Establishing a systematic molecular information analysis strategy for cell culture models is of great significance for drug development and tissue engineering technologies. Here, we fabricated single silver nanowires with high surface-enhanced Raman scattering activity to extract SERS spectra in situ from two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) cell culture models. The silver nanowires were super long, flexible and thin enough to penetrate through multiple cells.
