In this paper, we report the preparation of Natrolite zeolite supported copper nanoparticles as a heterogeneous catalyst for 1,3-diploar cycloaddition and synthesis aryl nitriles from aryl iodides under ligand-free conditions. The catalyst was characterized using XRD, SEM, TEM, EDS and TG-DTA. The experimental procedure is simple, the products are formed in high yields and the catalyst can be recycled and reused several times without any significant loss of catalytic activity.

The titanium-bearing (up to 3.31 wt% TiO) hydrous andradite [CaNaKFe][Fe AlTiFeMgVMn]SiO(OH) was identified within intensely altered and weathered pyroclastic rocks in the Sierra de Bahoruco region in the Dominican Republic. It forms small isolated euhedral crystals, infillings of fissures and fractures, and large polycrystalline aggregates, in close paragenesis with clinochlore and calcite.

This dataset article contains mineralogical and chemical data of some natural zeolites such as analcime, natrolite, phillipsite and harmotome. These minerals were found as secondary phases within vesicles and veins in the basaltic rocks of the Lessini Mounts, Northern Italy. Methods for obtaining the datasets include optical microscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and electron probe microanalysis.

Natural and synthetic zeolites have many applications in biomedicine and nutrition. Due to its properties, zeolites can absorb therapeutically active proteins and release them under physiological conditions. In this study we tested the clinoptilolite, chabazite, and natrolite ability to be loaded by antitumor ribonuclease binase and the cytotoxicity of the obtained complexes.

Among different metallic nanoparticles, sliver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) are one of the most essential and fascinating nanomaterials. Importantly, among the metal based nanoparticles, Ag NPs play a key role in various fields such as biomedicine, biosensors, catalysis, pharmaceuticals, nanoscience and nanotechnology, particularly in nanomedicine. A main concern about the chemical synthesis of Ag NPs is the production of hazardous chemicals and toxic wastes.

Here we describe the synthesis and structure of PST-18, a novel open-framework silicogermanate with Si/Ge ∼ 0.6, which contains a three-dimensional pore system consisting of large cuboid-shaped cavities with 8-ring windows, as well as with 7-rings interrupted by one OH group. Synchrotron single-crystal X-ray diffraction reveals that the structure of PST-18, synthesized using only tetramethylammonium fluoride as a structure-directing agent, is built up of natrolite zeolite chains and GeO(OH) clusters in a fully ordered manner.
