Abdominal pregnancy: Methods of hemorrhage control.

Abdominal pregnancy is an extremely rare form of ectopic pregnancy, mostly occurring secondarily after tubal rupture or abortion with secondary implantation anywhere in the peritoneal cavity. Massive intra-abdominal hemorrhage is a life threatening complication associated with secondary abdominal pregnancy. Various methods and techniques have been reported in the literature for controlling hemorrhage. Here, we report a case of massive intraperitoneal haemorrhage following placental removal controlled by abdominal packing and review the literature for diagnostic and management challenges.

Uterine rupture is a rare but serious complication that predominantly occurs in the third trimester of pregnancy. It is exceptionally uncommon in the second trimester, particularly in the presence of uterine anomalies such as a bicornuate uterus or uterus didelphys. This case report presents a significant instance of second-trimester uterine rupture associated with a bicornuate uterus, resulting in a life-threatening intra-abdominal hemorrhage of approximately 4000 mL.

Hormonal and immunological changes in pregnancy have raised concerns about the potential for accelerated melanoma progression and poorer maternal outcomes.
