A superconducting transition edge sensor (TES) bolometer operating in the spectral range from 0.1 THz to 3 THz was designed. It is especially intended for Fourier transform spectroscopy and features a higher dynamic range and a highly linear response at a similar response compared to commercially available silicon composite bolometers. The design is based on a thin film metal mesh absorber, a superconducting thermistor and Si3N4 membrane technology. A prototype was set up, characterized and successfully used in first applications.

The overexpression of Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2) protein is specifically related to tumor cell proliferation in breast cancers. Its presence in biological serum samples indicates presence or progression of cancer, becoming a promise biomarker. However, their detection needs a simple and high accuracy platform.

Splice-switching oligonucleotides (SSOs) can restore protein functionality in pathologies and are promising tools for manipulating the RNA-splicing machinery. Delivery vectors can considerably improve SSO functionality in vivo and allow dose reduction, thereby addressing the challenges of RNA-targeted therapeutics. Here, we report a biocompatible SSO nanocarrier, based on redox-responsive disulfide cross-linked low-molecular-weight linear polyethylenimine (cLPEI), for overcoming multiple biological barriers from subcellular compartments to en-route serum stability and finally in vivo delivery challenges.

To accurately model the specific detection characteristics of spectral sensors based on linear variable filters (LVFs) within an optical design tool, it is essential to consider crucial position-variable spectral properties, such as peak transmittance, central wavelength, half width, or slope steepness. In this context, we propose a straightforward approach, integrating a dynamic link library (DLL) containing all position-dependent spectral properties of the LVF into a commercial optical design software. Exemplary investigations are conducted for an LVF with a detection range of 450-850 nm.

A method involving gas chromatography coupled with quadrupole/orbitrap high-resolution mass spectrometry (GC-Q/Orbitrap HRMS) with the QuEChERS method was developed to analyze 36 non-phthalate plasticizers in milk powder products. The samples were dissolved in 20% NaCl, extracted with acetonitrile, and purified using silica, PSA, and C. The results showed the excellent linear relationship of the calibration curves of 36 non-phthalate plasticizers in the range of 10-1000 ng mL, with correlation coefficients () not less than 0.

The development of chiral organic materials with strong non-reciprocal chiroptical features may have major implications for cutting-edge technological applications. In this work, a new synthesized chiral 1,4-diketo-3,6-dithienylpyrrolo[3,4-]pyrrole dye, bearing two ()-3,7-dimethyl-1-octyl alkyl chains on the lactam moieties and functionalized with two lateral 9-anthracenyl π-conjugated units, exhibited strong non-reciprocal chiroptical properties in thin films, with some important differences between samples prepared by drop casting and spin coating. A detailed study was performed to unravel the intimate structure-property relationship, involving computational analysis, different microscopy techniques and synchrotron radiation Mueller matrix polarimetry imaging (SR-MMP) investigation.
