A less discussed aspect of patient safety issues in Sweden has been the correlation between disruptive behaviour and adverse advents. Disruptive behaviour, according to international studies, can affect team collaboration and communication, and hence the safety of care. Disruptive behaviour also exists in Swedish health-care. Dealing with the problem requires acknowledgement of its existence, and international examples have shown how to identify and prevent disruptive behaviour among health care staff.

Prostate-specific antigen testing in the United States during 2008-2022 in relation to the US preventive services task force recommendations.

Sci Rep

Department of Public Health, College of Life Sciences, Brigham Young University, 2063 Life Sciences Building, Provo, UT, 84602, USA.

The prevalence of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) testing has consistently fallen for several years. This study explored how the decreasing trend differs by selected variables and reasons for taking the PSA test. Analyses involved men, aged 40 years or older, who completed the Behavior Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) survey in even number years from 2008 through 2022.

Energy efficiency plays a major role in sustaining lifespan and stability of the network, being one of most critical factors in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). To overcome the problem of energy depletion in WSN, this paper proposes a new Energy Efficient Clustering Scheme named African Vulture Optimization Algorithm based EECS (AVOACS) using AVOA. The proposed AVOACS method improves clustering by including four critical terms: communication mode decider, distance of sink and nodes, residual energy and intra-cluster distance.

An improved practical Byzantine fault tolerance algorithm for aggregating node preferences.

Sci Rep

School of Information Engineering, Yangzhou University, Yangzhou, Jiangsu, China.

Consensus algorithms play a critical role in maintaining the consistency of blockchain data, directly affecting the system's security and stability, and are used to determine the binary consensus of whether proposals are correct. With the development of blockchain-related technologies, social choice issues such as Bitcoin scaling and main chain forks, as well as the proliferation of decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) applications based on blockchain technology, require consensus algorithms to reach consensus on a specific proposal among multiple proposals based on node preferences, thereby addressing the multi-value consensus problem. However, existing consensus algorithms, including Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance (PBFT), do not support nodes expressing preferences.

Microplastics (MPs) are ubiquitous and are increasing globally, but there is limited information available on their presence in freshwater ecosystems. This research work aims to investigate the abundance, sinking behavior, and risk assessment of MPs in the freshwater River Basantar, Jammu & Kashmir, India. Microplastic abundance in sediments was recorded in the range of 1-6 items g, with a mean abundance of 3 ± 1.

Previous research on the link between temperature and prosociality has produced mixed findings. A recent meta-analysis focusing on laboratory-based research concluded that the effect was null, a conclusion that was subject to low ecological validity. This paper complements the discussion by investigating the link between ambient temperature and three indicators of real-life prosociality in 164 regions over 14 years.
