Chondrosarcoma (CHS) is a rare malignant neoplasm of the jaws. Based on the morphologic features alone, a correct diagnosis of CHS may be difficult. Therefore, correlation of radiological and clinicopathological features are mandatory for the diagnosis of CHS. A case of CHS of the maxilla is reported. A brief discussion on the etiopathogenesis, radiologic and histologic presentation of the tumor and the treatment modalities of this unusual tumor is discussed.

Chediak-Higashi syndrome (CHS) is a rare multisystem genetic disorder of childhood, caused by a defect in vesicular trafficking, which is an essential process for intracellular transport. This defect results in the formation of giant cytoplasmic granules in various cell types, including white blood cells, melanosomes, and Schwann cells. The presence of giant lysosomal granules in neutrophils and their precursors is a distinct and diagnostic feature of CHS, differentiating it from other childhood immunodeficiency disorders, such as Griscelli syndrome and Hermansky-Pudlak syndrome, which share common characteristics like albinism and increased susceptibility to fatal hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis.

We developed a 4-parameter clinical assay using Electric Field Induced Release and Measurement (EFIRM) technology to simultaneously assess SARS-CoV-2 RNA (vRNA), nucleocapsid antigen, host binding (BAb) and neutralizing antibody (NAb) levels from a drop of saliva with performance that equals or surpasses current EUA-approved tests. The vRNA and antigen assays achieved lower limit of detection (LOD) of 100 copies/reaction and 3.5 TCID₅₀/mL, respectively.

Methods: We performed a historical cohort study using US commercial insurance data (2016-2021) to identify children aged <18 years without prior JIA diagnosis or treatment in the prior ≥12 months.
