Background: Educational Environment (EE) is considered as a key component of educational curriculum.

Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the EE of Nursing and Midwifery School of Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) by using Dundee Ready Education Environment Measure (DREEM).

Methods: This cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted in 2013. Totally, 500 nursing or midwifery students were recruited to the study by using the quota sampling method. Study data were collected by using a demographic questionnaire and the Persian version of DREEM questionnaire. The reliability of questionnaire was confirmed by Cronbach alpha which was 0.876 and 0.68-0.866 for the whole questionnaire and its domains, respectively. The data were analyzed by using SPSS v. 21.0.

Results: Totally, 350 completely-filled questionnaires were included in the final analysis. Most of the participants were nursing students (79.7%), female (74.6%), single (86.0%), bachelor (86.9%), first-year (36.9%), with mean age of 22.5 years. The mean item score of the DREEM was 2.09±0.49 (104.39 from 200). Moreover, the mean item scores of the domains were as follows, perception of learning: 1.93±0.61; perception of teachers: 2.42±0.56; perception of educational atmosphere: 2.05±0.59; academic-self-perception: 2.06±0.65; and social-self-perception: 2.17±0.62. All domains were statistically significant except the perception of learning and educational atmosphere (p<0.001) CONCLUSION: Although the educational environment of the study setting was found to be positive, it requires improvements. Strategies such as adopting student-centered approaches, revising the educational curriculum, strengthening student-teacher relationship, being sensitive and responsive to students' educational needs, providing constructive feedback to them, and creating a comfortable, friendly, and supportive atmosphere can improve the educational environment.

The current study aims to determine how the interactions between practice (distributed/focused) and mental capacity (high/low) in the cloud-computing environment (CCE) affect the development of reproductive health skills and cognitive absorption. The study employed an experimental design, and it included a categorical variable for mental capacity (low/high) and an independent variable with two types of activities (distributed/focused). The research sample consisted of 240 students from the College of Science and College of Applied Medical Sciences at the University of Hail's.

Studies on the Virucidal Effects of UV-C of 233 nm and 275 nm Wavelengths.

Institute of Hygiene and Environmental Medicine, University Medicine Greifswald, Ferdinand-Sauerbruch-Str., 17475 Greifswald, Germany.

Among the physical decontamination methods, treatment with ultraviolet (UV) radiation is a suitable means of preventing viral infections. Mercury vapor lamps (254 nm) used for room decontamination are potentially damaging to human skin (radiation) and harmful to the environment (mercury). Therefore, other UV-C wavelengths (100-280 nm) may be effective for virus inactivation on skin without damaging it, e.

Increasing antibiotic resistance poses an urgent global public health threat and a serious concern worldwide. Bacteriophage (phage) therapy has been identified as a promising alternative to antibiotics for treating bacterial diseases in both humans and animals. The excessive use of antibiotics in aquaculture is a major threat to sustainable aquaculture, promoting the spread of antibiotic resistance in the aquaculture environment and the contamination of aquaculture products with antibiotic residues.

Background/objectives: Considering the large number of candidates in vaccine-testing studies against different pathogens and the amount of time spent in the preclinical and clinical trials, there is a pressing need to develop an improved in vivo system to quickly screen vaccine candidates. The model of a polyester-polyurethane sponge implant provides a rapid analysis of the specific stimulus-response, allowing the study of a compartmentalized microenvironment. The sponge implant's defined measurements were standardized as a compartment to assess the immune response triggered by the vaccinal antigen.

Prehospital medical care is a major challenge for both civilian and military situations as resources are limited, yet critical triage and treatment decisions must be rapidly made. Prehospital medicine is further complicated during mass casualty situations or remote applications that require more extensive medical treatments to be monitored. It is anticipated on the future battlefield where air superiority will be contested that prolonged field care will extend to as much 72 h in a prehospital environment.
