The solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is a rare spindle cell neoplasm derived from mesenchymal cells. It sometimes recurs clinically, and is categorized as an 'intermediate malignancy' tumor under the WHO (World Health Organization) classification of soft tissue tumors. Several studies have reported on intraorbital SFTs, but none of them has pointed out the utility of preoperative arterial embolization in the case of an intraorbital SFT. A 75-year-old man, who had received a dacryocystectomy for a benign tumor in the right lacrimal sac 30 years previously, visited our hospital complaining of lower eyelid swelling and lachrymation that had persisted for a year. CT and MRI revealed an intraorbital lesion, and the open biopsy specimen showed dense growth of spindle cells, which turned out to be an SFT by immunohistochemistry based on the findings. After preoperative embolization of the infraorbital artery, we removed the tumor with a skin incision on the lower rim of the orbit with little bleeding. The surgical specimen revealed that the tumor was close to a lacrimal canaliculus, which suggested the tumor originated from the lacrimal apparatus considering the patient's past history. He was followed up for three months without recurrences.

This report describes the longest case of a retained metallic intraorbital foreign body with no complications and development of delayed sensory exotropia following traumatic sclopetaria in childhood. A 9-year-old girl suffered a BB gun injury to the left eye, leading to chorioretinitis sclopetaria and loss of vision. The visual acuity was 20/800 with a relative afferent pupillary defect and choroidal rupture with subretinal hemorrhage that evolved to sclopetaria over time.

MRI showed an intra-orbital lesion that was T1 isointense, T2 hyperintense, and well enhancing on contrast. The patient underwent right frontal craniotomy, superior orbitotomy, and decompression of the lesion.

Bilateral preseptal cellulitis without accompanying sinusitis or skin trauma is uncommon. In this report, we present a case of bilateral preseptal cellulitis and an upper eyelid abscess in an otherwise healthy child. A nine-year-old girl presented with severe and progressive bilateral swelling of the upper lids that showed an unsatisfactory response to medical treatments (intravenous ceftazidime and vancomycin) and warranted a referral to our facility.

Intra-orbital organic foreign body injuries occur within the eye but without the involvement of the orbit itself. A 39-year-old man self-presented to the emergency department complaining of sudden onset of pain surrounding his left eye and of reduced vision. The initial examination was unremarkable except for two healing lesion marks above his left upper eyelid.
