A ptychographical coherent diffractive imaging experiment in the water window with focused soft X-rays at 500 eV is reported. An X-ray beam with high degree of coherence was selected for ptychography at the P04 beamline of PETRA III synchrotron radiation source. The beam coherence was measured with the newly developed non-redundant array method, and a coherence length of 4.1 µm and global degree of coherence of 35% at 100 µm exit slit opening in the vertical direction were determined. A pinhole, 2.6 µm in size, selected the coherent part of the beam that was used to obtain ptychographic reconstruction results of a lithographically manufactured test sample and a fossil diatom. The achieved resolution was 53 nm for the test sample and was only limited by the size of the detector. The diatom was imaged at a resolution better than 90 nm.

Newly-synthesized structure T (sT) hydrate show promising practical applications in hydrogen storage and transport, yet the properties remain poorly understood. Here, we develop a machine learning potential (MLP) of sT hydrogen hydrate derived from quantum-mechanical molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. Using this MLP forcefield, the structural, hydrogen diffusion, mechanical and thermal properties of sT hydrogen hydrate are extensively explored.

Micro- and nanoplastics have become increasingly relevant as contaminants to be monitored due to their potential health effects and environmental impact. Nanoplastics, in particular, have been shown to be difficult to detect in drinking water, requiring new capture technologies. In this work, we applied the acoustofluidic seed particle method to capture nanoplastics in an optimized, tilted grid of silica clusters even at the high flow rate of 5 mL/min.

In order to study regional faunas, one or two methods of studying Coleoptera are often used. However, a comparison of several ways of studying shows that it is more expedient to use more than one of them. Six different methods of catching Coleoptera used in studies of the biodiversity of regional faunas were compared.

This work presents a perturbational decomposition method for simulating quantum evolution under the one-dimensional Ising model with both longitudinal and transverse fields. By treating the transverse field terms as perturbations in the expansion, our approach is particularly effective in systems with moderate longitudinal fields and weak to moderate transverse fields relative to the coupling strength. Through systematic numerical exploration, we characterize parameter regimes and evolution time windows where the decomposition achieves measurable improvements over conventional Trotter decomposition methods.

Single nanoparticle (NP) cyclic voltarefractometry (CVR), realized as wide-field surface plasmon resonance microscopy (SPRM) in combination with potential cycling, has been proposed and applied to the in situ study of TiO NPs. Electrochemical activity of TiO is mainly observed outside the electrochemical stability window of water. Therefore, the response of individual anatase (a-TiO) and rutile (r-TiO) NPs adsorbed on a gold layer was studied in 0.
