Results are still not up to par, even with the best efforts of conventional medicine, thus new avenues of investigation are required. Objective: Whereas a scalp electroencephalogram (EEG) is important for diagnosing epilepsy, a single routine EEG is limited in its diagnostic value. Only a small percentage of routine EEGs show interictal epileptiform discharges (IEDs) and overall misdiagnosis rates of epilepsy are 20% to 30%. We aim to demonstrate how network properties in EEG recordings can be used to improve the speed and accuracy differentiating epilepsy from mimics, such as functional seizures - even in the absence of IEDs.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide, with advanced stages posing significant treatment challenges. Although hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) has emerged as a promising modality for treating advanced HCC, particularly in Asian clinical practice, its adoption in Western medicine remains limited due to a lack of large-scale randomized controlled trials. This editorial reviews and comments on the meta-analysis conducted by Zhou , which evaluates the efficacy and safety of HAIC and its combination strategies for advanced HCC.

Treatment of extreme premature infants (EPI) is limited by developmental immaturity primarily of the lung. A paradigm shift towards a more physiologic treatment of EPI as fetal neonates or , by keeping them in a womb-like environment to allow continued organ maturation, is the rationale for artificial womb technology. In this review, we discuss the artificial placenta and womb technology, it's rationale, the history of its development, the most recent preclinical models described in the literature and finally pertinent ethical considerations.
