Article Abstract

The intercalation mechanism of zinc ions into 2 × 2 tunnels of an α-MnO2 cathode for rechargeable zinc batteries was revealed. It involves a series of single and two-phase reaction steps and produces buserite, a layered compound with an interlayer spacing of 11 Å as a discharge product.

The development of natural rubber (NR) gloves with superior antibacterial and enhanced mechanical properties is critical for safeguarding healthcare personnel. In this study, Ti-based MXene (TiCT) nanosheets were employed for the first time as an antibacterial agent to improve the antimicrobial performance of NR. Through SiO₂ intercalation via electronic assembly, the antibacterial efficacy of MXene was significantly boosted, achieving 100 % lethality against E.

The intercalation of metal chlorides, and particularly iron chlorides, into graphitic carbon structures has recently received lots of attention, as it can not only protect this two-dimensional (2D) magnetic system from the effects of the environment but also substantially alter the magnetic, electronic, and optical properties of both the intercalant and host material. At the same time, intercalation can result in the formation of structural defects or defects can appear under external stimuli, which can affect materials performance. These aspects have received so far little attention in dedicated experiments.

Na superionic conductor (NASICON)-structure NaMnV(PO) (NVMP) electrode materials reveal highly attractive application prospects due to ultrahigh energy density originating from two-electron reactions. Nevertheless, NVMP also encounters challenges with its poor electronic conductivity, Mn dissolution, and Jahn-Teller distortion. To address this issue, utilizing N-doped carbon layers and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) for dual encapsulation enhances the material's electronic conductivity, creating an effective electron transport network that promotes the rapid diffusion and storage of Na.

A novel adsorbent ZnAl-LDHs/SiO (ZA/SiO) was prepared by blending urea mixture of ZnSO and Al(SO) while using SiO as a support form. The adsorption properties of ZA/SiO for the removal of toxic metal ions (Cu(II) and Cr(VI)) from water were evaluated. By batch experiment method to investigate the ZA/SiO adsorption of Cu(II) and Cr(VI) solution treatment effect.

Graphdiyne (GDY), which is composed of benzene rings and acetylene linkage units, is a new allotrope of carbon material. In particular, the large triangular pores of GDY, with a diameter of 5.4 Å, theoretically predict a higher lithium embedding density than traditional graphite anodes, making it a promising candidate for energy storage materials in lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries.
