On December, 18th, 2014 it is 70 years from the date of creation 39 separate medical troop (aeromobile) of the Air force. The history of troop goes to the Great Patriotic War, when it was organized the 234th separate health battalion, The battalion has passed a fighting way as a part of 106 Guards shooting division from Hungary up to Austria. In the postwar period military personnels of the troop took the active participation in medical maintenance of soldiers-commandos in many local confrontations with the participation of Soviet, and after the Russian Army. During its lifetime the troop was repeatedly reorganized and now it is modern military treatment-and-prophylactic institution, it has in staff 100 beds and does all types of qualified (with elements special-purpose) medical aid to the wounded and sick, carries out the supply to the division of the medical supplies.

Photobiomodulation Combined With Human Umbilical Cord Mesenchymal Stem Cells Modulates the Polarization of Microglia.

J Biophotonics

Neuroinflammation plays a key role in the development of neurodegenerative diseases, with microglia regulating this process through pro-inflammatory M1 and anti-inflammatory M2 phenotypes. Studies have shown that human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUCMSCs) modulate neuroinflammation by secreting anti-inflammatory cytokines. Photobiomodulation (PBM), a non-invasive therapy, has demonstrated significant potential in alleviating neuroinflammation.

Nuclear Condensates of WW Domain-Containing Adaptor With Coiled-Coil Regulate Mitophagy via Alternative Splicing.

Adv Sci (Weinh)

January 2025

State Key Laboratory of Oral Diseases and National Clinical Research Center for Oral Diseases, West China Hospital of Stomatology, Sichuan University, Chengdu, 610041, China.

Biomolecular condensates segregate nuclei into discrete regions, facilitating the execution of distinct biological functions. Here, it is identified that the WW domain containing adaptor with coiled-coil (WAC) is localized to nuclear speckles via its WW domain and plays a pivotal role in regulating alternative splicing through the formation of biomolecular condensates via its C-terminal coiled-coil (CC) domain. WAC acts as a scaffold protein and facilitates the integration of RNA-binding motif 12 (RBM12) into nuclear speckles, where RBM12 potentially interacts with the spliceosomal U5 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (snRNP).

Background: Plasma NT-proBNP (N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide) is commonly used to diagnose heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), but its diagnostic performance in the ambulatory/outpatient setting is unknown because previous studies lacked objective reference standards.

Methods: Among patients with chronic dyspnea, diagnosis of HFpEF or noncardiac dyspnea was determined conclusively by exercise catheterization in a derivation cohort (n=414), multicenter validation cohort 1 (n=560), validation cohort 2 (n=207), and a nonobese Japanese validation cohort 3 (n=77). Optimal NT-proBNP cut points for HFpEF rule out (optimizing sensitivity) and rule in (optimizing specificity) were derived and tested, stratified by obesity and atrial fibrillation.

Veterinary intervention in zoological species can be complicated by species-specific social dynamics. African wild dogs are a pack species and removal or separation of an individual may disrupt established pack hierarchy resulting in conspecific aggression. Therefore, medical interventions that optimize a quick return to health are ideal to minimize the duration of absence from the pack.

Background And Aims: Childhood obesity leads to significant health risks, emphasizing the critical need for effective preventive measures during the preschool years. However, there is a lack of comprehensive studies on overweight and obesity among preschool children in Hainan Island, China's largest free-trade zone. Our study assessed the prevalence of overweight and obesity among preschool children across Hainan Island using Chinese, World Health Organization (WHO), and International Obesity Task Force (IOTF) criteria.
