A novel Gram-stain-positive, rod-shaped, motile, endospore-forming and proteolytic bacterial strain, SPT, was isolated from Lonar soda lake, in India. On the basis of 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis it was identified as belonging to the class Firmibacteria and was most closely related to Bacillus cellulosilyticus DSM 2522T (96.7%) and other members of the genus Bacillus ( < 95.9%). Strain SPT was catalase- and oxidase-positive. The cell-wall peptidoglycan of strain SPT contained meso-diaminopimelic acid. Polar lipids included diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, three phospholipids, two aminolipids and two unknown lipids. The predominant isoprenoid quinone was MK-7. Anteiso-C15 : 0 (26.8%) was the predominant fatty acid and significant proportions (>5%) of iso-C15 : 0 (20.9%), C16 : 1ω7c alcohol (6.3%), iso-C16 : 0 (6.3%) and anteiso-C17 : 0 (5.3 %) were also detected in strain SPT. The DNA G+C content of strain SPT was 38.9 mol%. The results of phylogenetic, chemotaxonomic and biochemical tests allowed a clear differentiation of strain SPT from all other members of the genus Bacillus. Strain SPT represents a novel member of the genus Bacillus, for which the name Bacilluscaseinilyticus sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is SPT ( = MCC 2612T = JCM 30246T).

Classical swine fever virus (CSFV) is a highly contagious and economically important pathogen threatening pig industry worldwide, the envelope glycoprotein E2 of CSFV is the dominant antigen inducing strong antiviral neutralizing immunity. In this study, 7 monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) with neutralizing potency were generated using E2 protein of CSFV Shimen strain (SM) expressed by eukaryotic cells. Their reactivity with 116 CSFV strains in cell cultures and E2 proteins of 10 subgenotypes in western blots showed different CSFV spectrums they recognized.

Transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGEV) causes high mortality in young piglets (< 3 days of age). With aging, the susceptibility/morbidity/mortality rates drop. We previously hypothesized that the age-related changes in the intestinal mucus could be responsible for this resistance.

Purpose: Individuals with depression have an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, and more often have a poor prognosis with cardiovascular disease. This study aimed to investigate the impact of depression on Left Ventricular (LV) alterations using Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Featuretracking (CMR-FT).
Methods: Seven anesthetized, healthy Chinese miniature swine were included in the study.

The aim of this study was to establish a multi-factor-induced depression model in mice within a relatively short period, specifically through the combination of intraperitoneal injection of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and chronic restraint stress (CRS), and to evaluate the differences in depressive-like behaviors among three different strains of mice, seeking mouse strains more suitable for this combined model. The mice of each strain were randomly divided into the normal group and model group. The mice in the model group received a single intraperitoneal injection of LPS once daily (1 mg/kg/d for 7 days) and subsequent CRS for 6 h, to induce depression, while the mice in the normal group received no treatment.
