Department of Child Health and Development, Graduate School of Medical and Dental Sciences, Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU), 1-5-45 Yushima, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, 113-8519, Japan.

Article Synopsis

  • Two XLA patients experienced cellulitis and bacteremia from Helicobacter cinaedi despite receiving immunoglobulin therapy, highlighting the challenge of detecting this infection with standard blood cultures.
  • Increasing cases of non-H. pylori Helicobacter infections underscore the need for thorough microbiological testing in XLA patients presenting with fever and skin issues for effective treatment.
