Background: Locoregional therapy (LRT) in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) before liver transplantation (LT) has a role in improving the tumor biology and post-LT survival outcome apart from downstaging and bridging. We retrospectively analyzed our database of adult living donor liver transplants (LDLT) for HCC, to compare the survival outcomes in Group-1 (upfront-LT, HCC within Milan/UCSF/AFP<1000 ng/ml) and Group-2 (LT post-LRT, HCC beyond UCSF/irrespective of tumor burden with AFP>1000 ng/ml). We also explored the risk factors for recurrence on follow-up.

Key Laboratory of Birth Defects and Related Diseases of Women and Children of Ministry of Education (MOE), West China Institute of Women and Children's Health, Key Laboratory of Development and Diseases of Women and Children of Sichuan Province, Department of Pediatrics, Department of Pediatric Cardiology, West China Second University Hospital, Sichuan University, Chengdu, Sichuan, China.

Background: Cardiovascular involvement is a rare but severe complication of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infections. Patients with chronic active EBV (CAEBV) are at increased risk of developing cardiovascular complications and have a poor prognosis. Here, we report the rare case of a pediatric patient with CAEBV and EBV- hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) complicated with a giant coronary artery aneurysm (CAA) and thrombosis, a giant Valsalva sinus aneurysm, and ascending aorta dilation seven years after the disease onset.

Background: The factors contributing to osteoarthritis progression after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and reconstruction (ACLR) are not fully understood. Quantitative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) offers a noninvasive way to evaluate cartilage biochemical composition using T1ρ mapping, thereby detecting early cartilage degeneration. The specific impact of preoperative quantitative MRI on long-term outcomes after ACLR remains underreported.

Background: There is limited knowledge of the long-term effects on the immune system after treatment for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).

Methods: This study included DLBCL patients from the Danish Lymphoma Registry who obtained complete remission (CR) after (R)-CHOP (cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, prednisolone)-like immunochemotherapy. Each R CHOP-like treated patient was matched to five comparators from the Danish background population and furthermore compared to R CHOP-like treated patients.

Background: Complicated crown-root fracture (CRF) involves severe injury to the crown, root, and pulp, and may be accompanied by multiple root fractures. The loss of a tooth has lifelong consequences for children and teenagers, but the maintenance of pulp health and the calcific healing of multiple root fractures are rarely reported in the literature.

Case Summary: This case reports healing of a permanent tooth with complicated crown-root and additional root fractures, in which pulp health was maintained.
