A simplified analog (WU-07047) of the selective Gαq/11 inhibitor YM-254890 has been synthesized, and an initial probe of its activity conducted. In the analog, the two peptide-based linkers in the cyclic YM-254890 have been replaced with hydrocarbon chains. This enables a convergent approach to the synthesis of the analog. Biochemical assays showed that while the simplified analog is not as potent as YM-254890, it does still inhibit Gq.

High-performance and cost-effective hole-collecting materials (HCMs) are indispensable for commercially viable perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Here, we report an anchorable HCM composed of a triazatruxene core connected with three alkyl carboxylic acid groups (). In contrast to the phosphonic acid-containing tripodal analog (), molecules can form a hydrophilic monolayer on a transparent conducting oxide surface, which is beneficial for subsequent perovskite film deposition in the traditional layer-by-layer fabrication process.

A fault diagnosis method of nonlinear analog circuits is proposed that combines the generalized frequency response function (GFRF) and the simplified least squares support vector machine (LSSVM). In this study, the harmonic signal is used as an input to estimate the GFRFs. To improve the estimation accuracy, the GFRFs of an analog circuit are solved directly using time-domain data.

Objective: Visual processing deficits arising in dementia are associated with particular functional disability. This study aimed to investigate the effects of the built environment on mobility and navigation in people with dementia-related visual loss.
Methods: Participants with posterior cortical atrophy (PCA; "visual-variant Alzheimer's"; n = 11), typical Alzheimer's disease (tAD; N = 10), and controls (n = 13) repeatedly walked down routes within a simplified real-world setting.

Background: Early detection of sphingolipidoses is crucial to prevent irreversible complications and improve patient outcomes. The use of urine samples dried on filter paper (DUS) is a non-invasive strategy that simplifies the collection, storage, and shipping of samples compared to using liquid urine specimens.
Objectives: (1) Develop and validate a multiplex ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) methodology using DUS to quantify twenty-one lysosphingolipids normalized to creatinine for eight different sphingolipidoses.

Cultured meat needs edible bio-scaffolds that provide not only a growth milieu for muscle and adipose cells, but also biomimetic stiffness and tissue-sculpting topography. Current meat-engineering technologies struggle to achieve scalable cell production, efficient cell differentiation, and tissue maturation in one single culture system. Here we propose an autoclaving strategy to transform common vegetables into muscle- and adipose-engineering scaffolds, without undergoing conventional plant decellularization.
