Objectives: To investigate the influence of full scleral lenses on corneal curvature and pachymetry in keratoconus patients.
Methods: In this intervention study, 20 eyes of 14 patients were measured by Scheimpflug imaging (Pentacam HR, Oculus) at two time points: directly and ≥1 week after scleral lens removal. Steep, flat and maximal keratometry (K(steep), K(flat) and K(max)) and optical pachymetry were analyzed. A generalized estimating equation analysis was performed to correct for paired eyes.
Results: Directly after scleral lens removal, all three curvature parameters were significantly flatter compared to ≥1 week after scleral lens removal. Average K(steep) was 0.7 diopter (D) lower (P<0.001), average K(flat) was 0.5D lower (P=0.037) and average K(max) was 1.1D lower (P<0.001). Directly after scleral lens removal, average optical pachymetry was ±2.5% higher (P<0.001) compared to ≥1 week after scleral lens removal.
Conclusions: Although scleral lenses do not mechanically touch the cornea, curvature and pachymetry seem to be influenced by scleral lens wear in keratoconus patients. The duration of these changes remain unclear.

Purpose: This study aims to examine the correlation between specific clinical parameters, such as axial eye length, and the onset of ocular hypertension "OH" following the use of silicone oil filling in patients with high myopia.
Method: In this retrospective analysis, we reviewed 214 eyes from 432 patients diagnosed with severe myopia, all of whom underwent vitrectomy and were treated with silicone oil filling. The study aimed to document the incidence and timing of postoperative ocular hypertension "OH" while assessing various factors, including demographic details, medical history, additional surgical interventions, and findings from supplementary examinations (such as axial length, silicone oil emulsification, and anterior chamber penetration).
This retrospective observational multicentre cohort study compared the rate of postoperative cystoid macular oedema (CME) between two intraocular lens (IOL) scleral fixation (SFIOL) techniques: a flanged IOL fixation technique (Yamane technique) and a suture IOL transscleral fixation technique (conventional technique). The study included 207 eyes with postoperative CME that had undergone SFIOL and were observed for > 12 weeks between January 2019 and January 2021. The primary endpoint was a comparison of the rate of postoperative CME at 3 months between groups.

Topic: To compare anatomic outcomes of primary scleral buckle (SB) vs. lens sparing pars plana vitrectomy (LSV) in treating retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) associated Stage 4A retinal detachment (RD).
Clinical Relevance: ROP is the leading cause of blindness in childhood in industrialized countries worldwide.

Current treatments for fundus disorders, such as intravitreal injections, pose risks, including infection and retinal detachment, and are limited in their ability to deliver macromolecular drugs across the blood‒retinal barrier. Although non-invasive methods are safer, their delivery efficiency remains suboptimal (<5%). We have developed a wearable electrodriven switch (WES) that improves the non-invasive delivery of macromolecules to the fundus.
